ADOPTED – OWEN
Male, 6 months, 28 lbs
Male, 6 months, 28 lbs
OWEN is 6 months of age and slight of build at 28 pounds. His smooth coat and bat ears point to his being a McNab / border collie mix. His shiny coat is dark brown with white markings on his chest. OWEN gets along well with dogs young and old, but leans towards and prefers his people. When let out of his crate, he wants pets before going outside. When outside he will be at the center of all activity, yet will seek out his humans for affirmation, pets, and love. He is all about climbing up on the bench with his foster dad, as long as Jet or Skittles hasn’t beaten him to it.
OWEN’s middle name is FUN! There isn’t a toy he doesn’t love. He enjoys playing tug with the other dogs and with his foster parents. Even with Owen’s keen desire to play, he is still very affectionate. He will sit politely and wait for pets and also loved belly rubs. “Cute” doesn’t begin to describe Owen. He is highly treat-motivated and will need a lot of mental and physical stimulation to be the best dog he can be. Agility, nose work, or flyball might be activities he’d enjoy and do well at.
OWEN is house and crate trained. Crate feeding has hastened his progress as he sits nicely and waits for his meals and treats. OWEN also travels quietly in his crate and amazed the vet with how nicely he sat while waiting for his exam. Owen would do well with another dog to show him the ropes and keep him active. He’d be fine as an only dog in an active, engaged family that will keep him sharp.
OWEN learns quickly, pays attention, and waits patiently for his reward. He is small, fast, and agile, so if you’re looking for a pal who would love to learn and do EVERYTHING with you and the cuddle with you afterwards, Owen is your boy.
OWEN’s adoption is PARTIALLY SPONSORED. His adoption fee is $125.
