ADOPTED – PRESLEY

Female, 7 months, 32 lbs.
PRESLEY is a very active, energetic, and inquisitive little girl with a bounding personality. She is a rough coat border collie weighing 32 pounds and standing about 22” at the shoulder. Presley is seven months old and displays many puppy tendencies. She is a black tri-colored border collie as she has copper markings over both of her brown eyes as well as copper markings on either side of her face.
Presley loves to explore the yard on her own, and mostly stays within eyesight of her humans when outside. She is agile, athletic, and fast. Presley will run and turn on a dime, then stop and look at you. If she hears no command, Presley will continue to run and play on her own.
PRESLEY is a well-balanced girl, who desires a family that will spend time with her and train her to her true potential. She has learned very quickly to walk on leash, and her recall is 98% solid even with distractions. On recall, Presley will run, jump or bound over any obstacle to get to you. Whether during training or play, Presley is “full speed”; there is no slow down or halfway. In training, she is learning to “sit,” “down,” “wait,” and she will retrieve the ball or toy on command. Her training sessions are short and several times a day with positive reinforcement and food treat reward. Presley is both toy-driven, and food-motivated. She could be a wonderful jogging or hiking partner. Presley shows potential as a splendid agility dog; she is fast, agile, learns quickly, and is very willing to please.
PRESLEY is a very personable dog and wants to be with you every waking minute of the day. Presley wants to be with her person all the time, and she does not like to be left alone. When her foster family leaves the house, she will whine and bark for some minutes before settling down. Having a second dog in the home will not make a difference; it’s her people that she wants most. Presley sleeps soundly and quietly in her crate through the night. She is content in her crate for down time, to eat, and to sleep; she travels well in a crate when riding in the car. When let outside off and or on leash, Presley will relieve herself on command with positive reinforcement. She has not been left to run free unsupervised and or unattended in the house.
PRESLEY is playful with her foster brother but can be overly spirited in play; she is all go and no stop. She has shown no interest in squirrels or cats. However, she is protective of the property and will bark and alert if a strange person or unfamiliar dog comes near or on the property. Presley has been exposed to small children. She loves to run and play; however, she displays a strong herding instinct.
Presley is looking for a special, active family who will include her in ALL their activities, someone who will support and train her to become the very best border collie she can be.
