ADOPTED – Little 17 pound SALLY is an adorable Borgi, a border collie/corgi mix. Sally has the size & short legs of a corgi with the zip & smarts of a border collie. She loves learning new things & is lightning fast. Flyball height dog anyone? When Sally first came into rescue, she was easily overwhelmed & was reluctant to engage in anything with her foster mom. But Sally is quick to warm up when she gets to know someone. Within a couple of days in her foster home, she was running wild zoomies in the backyard, retrieving toys & bringing them back every time (she obviously learned this in her previous home), & seeking pets & lap time with her foster mom. Sally crate-trained in a fingersnap & has never had an accident in her foster home.
While SALLY learned how to play retrieve games before she came to us, she still has a lot to learn. She is learning confidence with having a leash attached to her collar, to sit, & to leave things that she shouldn’t play with or have in her mouth. She is very treat & toy-motivated, & playing with toys is the way to her heart. So, she will be a quick study with anything you want to teach her. Sally is, however, a soft dog, so only positive reinforcement training for this little girl; she is easily crushed by a stern or impatient voice.
SALLY has lived with other border collies in her foster home, but at this point she has shown no interest in them; nor they in her. She tolerates sharing her foster mom with them, but would probably thrive as an only dog.
