Female, 4 Months, 24 lbs
Say “hello” to Ellie, a 24#, 4-month-old sweetheart. Ellie is smart, social, and loving. Her foster mom describes her as “perfect!”.
Curious, confident, and independent, Ellie also loves her people. She loves doing things with her people and then having a good cuddle afterwards. She’s very cuddly! She has a medium to high activity level, typical of most border collie pups, so she’ll be looking for fun things to exercise her body and brain. She might be a good candidate for dog sports like agility or scent work. Ellie loves to play and run with the other dogs in her foster home, but she can also entertain herself with her favorite toys and chew bones. She is such a nice girl that she easily shares her toys with her dog friends, and she even gets along well with the cats in her foster home! Like a lot of border collie pups her age, Ellie likes to go places and have “puppaventures”. She rides happily and quietly in the car.
Ellie loves both treats and toys, so both of these can be used as good motivators for training this eager-to-please little gal. She knows how to “sit” when asked; she has learned to wait at a door or gate; and she already has a great recall, especially for such a young pup. She responds quickly to clear direction and gentle correction. Ellie is crate-trained, and her housetraining is coming along nicely. She sleeps quietly in her crate through the night.
If you’re looking for a smart, social, active pup, that loves to learn and that wants to be your next best friend, Ellie might be the pup for you. She wants someone who has time to spend with her, teaching her how to be the best girl she can be. She would be happy living with another social dog or as your one-and-only.
ELLIE is started on her puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. She is also on flea & tick and heartworm prevention. As a condition of puppy adoption, she will need to be altered when she reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded. If you have an approved Adoption Application and wish to inquire, send an email to: Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org.
ELLIE is fostering in Hughson in Stanislaus County, CA.
Thank you for considering adoption of your next best friend from NCBCRA. Our Border Collies are waiting to join your family.
