ADOPTED – JILL (aka JILLIE BEAN)

Female, 1 year, 35 lbs.

We’ve all heard the saying, “you can’t buy happiness but you can adopt it.” Well, if you want to be greeted when you come home by a wet nose & a happy tail, take a look at our foster dog JILL. She’s an adorable black & white (with a touch of tan on her legs) border collie. JILL is a one year old female weighing about 35 lbs & she’s looking for someone to love her (besides her foster Mom, that is). This precious girl is about as sweet as they come. Once you meet her you can’t help falling in love with her.

JILL is very friendly with people. I As with any dog it’s best if you let her come up to you instead of the other way around. She’s also friendly with other dogs who are friendly towards her. She might try to entice them to play or she just might go off & play by herself instead. This little girl is definitely still very much a puppy so you can expect all the normal puppy behaviors that come with one so young. All JILL needs to learn is in the training her new owner should give her.

JILL likes to be wherever you are & will follow you around the house or curl up next to you on the couch. She absolutely loves being petted. She will nudge your hand or arm to get you to pet her. If you stop she will nudge you again to get more pets. And with that cute face & her big brown eyes how could anyone resist her?

JILL loves to run at full speed in her foster MOM’s large back yard & she is very fast. Sometimes she will tire herself out doing the “zoomies.” When she’s called to come into the house her recall is great. She seems to be totally housebroken and, although she hasn’t learned to give a signal yet, thanks to her foster Mom’s consistent potty schedule she has not had a single accident in her foster home. She knows what “go outside to potty” means & obeys it quickly. JILL is very food/treat motivated which will make training a lot of fun. In her foster home she has already learned to sit, wait/stay, come & leave/drop it.

JILL is a sensitive little girl so when working with her a soft voice is best. She is very responsive to commands. She is crate trained & sleeps quietly through the night in it at her foster home. However, she would actually prefer to sleep on the bed with you, if allowed. She walks nicely on the leash yet additional training would be beneficial. Thankfully JILL is not an obnoxious barker. When her foster siblings start barking at something, JILL does not join in. Jill would love to be an only dog who gets all the attention, treats & love, however, a buddy with a temperament similar to hers is fine, too.

We are hoping to find a home for this precious little girl with someone who definitely has the time, patience & desire to dedicate to her training. With lots of love & pets she will continue to grow & blossom into an even more an amazing companion. If you think you can give JILL what we are hoping for we would be happy to talk with you.
