Male, 14 weeks. 13 lbs
OWEN, the smallest of the group from day one, has almost caught up to his sister Nora. He weighs in at 13 pounds, but he’s never let his size hold him back. This smallish smooth coat doesn’t let any of the other pups boss him around. OWEN loves people, gets along great with the other puppies and adult dogs, but will need a cat-free environment. He is too interested and overexcited when he sees felines.
Arriving to our rescue on March 17th, the St. Paddy’s Day puppies range from 13 to 17 lbs. With their bat ears, slim bodies, and cat-like feet we believe them to be McNab / border collie mixes. These puppies are coming PARTIALLY SPONSORED. Their adoption fees will be $125 (plus the $75 spay / neuter deposit (that’s a $300 sponsored reduction). The six puppies were split into two foster homes, with Patrick, Quinn, and Kelly in one home while Owen, Nora, and Erin are in another.
OWEN is always in the center of any activity with the other pups. His middle name is FUN! There isn’t a toy he doesn’t love. Like his littermates, he likes to tug with the other puppies & with his foster mom. Even with Owen’s keen desire to play, he is still very affectionate—after squirming for a few seconds–& likes to have his tummy rubbed. His foster mom can call him from anywhere & from any activity & he comes running, sometime so fast that he does somersaults. Then, he will skid to a stop & immediately sit. “Cute’ doesn’t begin to describe Owen. He is highly treat motivated and will need a lot of mental and physical stimulation to be the best dog he can be. Agility, nosework, or flyball might be activities he’d enjoy and do well at.
OWEN is making progress on his potty habits, and will get it with the individual attention of his forever home. Crate feeding has hastened his progress as he sits nicely and waits for his meals and treats. OWEN also travels quietly in his crate and amazed the vet with how nicely he, Nora, and Erin sat while waiting for their exams.
He learns quickly, pays attention, & waits patiently for his reward. He is small, fast, & agile, so if you’re looking for a pal who would love to learn & do EVERYTHING with you, Owen is your boy.
OWEN is started on her puppy vaccines, wormed, and microchipped. She is also on flea & tick and heartworm prevention. As a condition of puppy adoption, she will need to be altered when she reaches approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded.
