8-month-old spayed female Border Collie / Heeler mix
36 lbs | 📎 Microchipped | 🎈 DOB: November 24, 2024
Mabel is a sweet, smart, and energetic pup with the tallest ears and the biggest brown eyes. She’s quick to learn, food-motivated (especially for cheese!), and already knows commands like “sit,” “stay,” “paw,” “drop it,” , “twirl”, and more. She adores people, loves other dogs, and thrives when she has a job to do. Her favorite activities include playing tug, digging, and chewing on her toys.
That said, Mabel needs an experienced and patient adopter. As a high-energy herding breed mix, she struggles with leash reactivity and anxiety, especially when overstimulated or frustrated. She has had a few biting incidents under stress or during restraint (e.g., vet exams, resource guarding early on), and she needs a home with someone familiar with behavior management.
We love her deeply and believe in her potential — but we also recognize we cannot provide the long-term structure and support she needs. Mabel deserves a home where her challenges will be met with understanding, and her strengths will be nurtured with care. She has so much love to give!
