Blu – Adopted

Male, approx 2 years

SPECIAL NEEDS DOG – PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING
Meet BLU, a sweet ~2-year-old boy looking for a loving home. BLU is a beautifully marked medium coat Border Collie mix, weighing in at 38 pounds. BLU may have been under-socialized as a puppy as he is a dog sensitive to change and/or to environments where he feels he has no control. He wants to trust and loves to play with other dogs, but has a high startle response. He is happiest when he has a dog buddy, a calm household, and a solid routine.

BLU has come a long way since coming into rescue. He will cuddle and loves to be petted. He will take a treat gently from your hand (once trust is built), and has started to give kisses. He loves, loves, loves to play with other dogs. A dog mate who loves to run and play would be a good partner for him.

BLU gets along fine with his foster packmates, with no issues or arguments. He’ll need a slow-paced home environment with lots of gentle human contact. A home with knowledge of fearful dog behavior is preferred. BLU has a clean bill of health, is heartworm negative, and up to date on his vaccinations. He has had no accidents in the house, is crate-trained and sleeps all night through.

BLU is  micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application and wish to inquire about BLU, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.
