Meet Wolf. He is a smart, energetic, and devoted almost 7-year-old. 45 pound Border Collie who thrives with structure, mental stimulation, and a confident handler. He is highly intelligent, learns quickly, and forms strong bonds with his people. When he’s with his trusted humans, Wolf is affectionate, eager to please, and full of the classic Border Collie drive that makes him a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys training, long walks, hikes, puzzle toys, or dog sports.

Important note about other dogs:

Wolf has recently shown aggression/reactivity towards new / unfamiliar dogs. He currently lives with two other dogs and has dog cousins and does great with them. Careful management around new dogs is needed (leash walks, controlled distance, and gradual, supervised introductions if any are attempted).

Ideal home:

  • Active adult or couple who can provide daily exercise and mental work
  • Knowledge of herding breeds or previous experience with reactive dogs preferred
  • Secure fencing and a routine
  • No young children or multi-pet homes unless carefully evaluated
  • Someone ready to continue (or start) professional training support if needed

Reason for re Homing:

My life has taken an unexpected change. I recently had a baby, and I don’t have the time in my life anymore to give Wolf the proper life I know he deserves, even with getting him a dog walker and trying to take him as much as possible. With his new random hit or miss with dogs, the anxiety I have if the door is left open or not shut is a lot. I’ve worked with a trainer about his behavior but as much as I’ve invested trying to fix the issue it’s just in his breed (as my trainer says). With all that said and as difficult as this decision is, I can’t be selfish and keep him because I love him. He deserves a better life than the one I can give him. There was also an incident where my family was having a bbq and doing a corn hole tournament. If you have ever played there’s flying bean bags in the air. (Did I mention he’s ball obsessed). One of the guests went to go grab the bag while wolf ran up to get it and cut her skin. She did need stitches (she had older skin, very thin). If you are someone interested in Wolf I can explain in more detail. Everyone present said there was zero aggression. I hope Wolf finds a match and a better home then the one he has now. Thanks for reading.
