From Mom Andrea:
I always wanted another Border collie and when I saw little Elvis (Ellie), the Border Collie Terrier Mix, I knew he was right sized for me. I could tell from the beginning that he had that Border collie desire to work and please his owner. We started right way with Obedience training and he was a star so we continued to AKC Good Citizen Certification and then AKC Novice Tricks. Practicing was his favorite part of the day! He began training for therapy dog, going into Rehabilitation facilities and Hospice and then Covid-19 came. We were not able to complete the training but Ellie eagerly continued the training at home. We met with a certified trainer who tested him and he passed. So now he is an official Therapy dog. However, we are not done yet. He is beginning online training for intermediate Tricks. This will give him more fun things to do and we have turned our attention to going into Pediatric wards. Ellie is always up for new tricks and new adventures both on his daily walks and in the community. Everywhere he goes he makes friends and gives high fives! Speaking of friends, he loves his sister Casey (because she lets him do whatever he wants). And by the way, he’s still very attached to his ball. If it goes missing, and there are three of them that sometimes all go missing, we have to do a hunt before he can relax!
We at NCBCRA are so proud of you Ellie. Great job Andrea (and Casey)!!!
