Meet marvelous Mr. Milo!

Milo is about 2-years-old, a BC/Aussie mix, who weighs 34lbs. Milo’s favorite thing is his person and going for walks. He gets excited when the leash comes out and will sit patiently by the door for his harness to be put on. He walks well with a harness and is progressing learning leash manners. His second favorite thing is hanging out and playing with his foster pack. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes and even cats. He will sometimes sniff the cat in his foster home, but he shows no interest in chasing.

Milo is a medium energy boy who will be happy to lounge close by once he has had his walk. He has not shown any interest in chasing a ball, or in toys, but he does love a good marrow bone to chew on. He is very food motivated and already has some good basic training like sit, down, wait, and his recall is good unless he is on the scent of something interesting. He loves to roll over on his back for belly rubs.

When Milo first came into rescue, he had some hair loss on his back from flea allergies. His hair is mostly grown back now, but he will need to be kept on flea medication year round to prevent any recurrence. Due to Milo’s lower energy level, he would not be a good candidate for vigorous dog sports or long distance running. He may enjoy something like nose work. He’s a pretty chill dude who just wants to be part of the family.

Milo will sometimes bark when someone comes to the door, but he is easily corrected. He is very friendly with new people and not shy at all. He is potty/crate trained and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He has free roam of the house when his foster mom is home and will go in his crate with a treat while his foster is gone for short periods during the day. He rides easily in the car with a harness and seatbelt clip.

Milo is looking for a family who is home most of the time and will include him in all their activities. Overall, Milo is a very well-mannered, easy going boy who will be a wonderful addition to the family.

Milo is micro-chipped, neutered, heartworm negative, on heartworm preventative, and up-to-date on vaccines.
