COOPER AVAILABLE

July 8, 2025/in Featured, Our Dogs

COOPER is a beautiful black and white rough coated border collie, weighing in at 40 pounds and standing about 23” at the shoulder. He is approximately 1-1/2 to 2 years of age. He is a well-balanced boy with brown inquisitive and curious eyes.  He is goofy, fun, energetic, sweet and very curious.  Cooper loves to explore the yard on his own and mostly stays within eyesight to his humans when outside.

ADOPTED – ATTIE

July 1, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

Meet Attie! This joyful one-year-old Border collie mix is the whole package: confident, friendly, and endlessly affectionate. Weighing about 30 pounds, she’s the perfect size to fit into just about any home or lifestyle — big enough to keep up with your day, small enough to curl up in your lap at night.

ADOPTED – LUCY

June 28, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

**Adoption Pending**
Meet LUCY, a 4-year-old love muffin!  LUCY is such a sweet, friendly girl that when she was picked up by animal control, the officer had her ride in the front seat of the truck with him and while she stayed at the shelter, the shelter manager kept LUCY in the office with her.  At the veterinarian’s office for each and every appointment, staff all wanted to work with LUCY.  And they all came out to say good-bye when it was time for her to go home with her foster mom.  She greets everyone by extending her front paw, as if to shake hands, and then she quickly moves in for a hug.

ADOPTED – CASH

June 27, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

**Adoption Pending**
CASH is between 9-12 months, weighs 37 lbs. and is ALL heart! All he wants to do is feel safe and loved, and he will make you feel the same way right back. Cash has the most expressive eyes. You can almost tell what he is thinking and feeling just by making eye contact with him. He is very aware and loves to know what is going on all around him. He has been doing so well in foster care and has really bonded with his foster parents and border collie foster siblings. He likes to follow them everywhere and is what we like to call a “Velcro dog” dog.

ADOPTED – DOLLY

June 17, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

DOLLY, our 2 year old, 45 pound, blue-eyed Border collie mix, is deaf but you would never know it by observing her. She lives a very normal and easy-going life. And yes, we talk to her ALL THE TIME, whether with our voices or our hands. She loves people and will attach to you like Velcro.

**Adoption Pending**
Say hello to THOR, who is the polar opposite of the God of Thunder!  Four-year-old, 46 pound Thor is the epitome of kindness and gentleness with people and dogs alike.  Our Thor is a cuddler!   Even at the all-women vet practice, he felt right at home, giving kisses to all the ladies.  He absolutely loves women and girls.

ADOPTED – TABITHA

May 3, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

** ADOPTION PENDING **

ADOPTED – MATEO

April 26, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

MATEO is a 1 year old, 46 pound red, white, and tan rough coat Border collie. His coat is long and soft and his golden eyes are striking. He is a very happy and active boy looking for a family to match his energy and capacity for love.

MATEO loves people and food (the order is up for debate) more than anything else. While he gets along with, and loves running and playing with his foster mates, he mostly wants to be with his people. When out with the other dogs, and his foster dad shows up, Mateo immediately runs to him for acknowledgement, pets, and approval. Fast and athletic, he may be a candidate for agility or some other fun activity to exercise mind and body. He was very popular at the Vet’s office when in for his vaccinations. The staff could not get enough of him.

ADOPTED – DAPHNE

April 3, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

DAPHNE is a one year old female border collie and Australian shepherd cross with a beautiful blue merle coat. She weighs at just 35 lbs. Daphne has one brown eye and one blue eye, which melts your heart when she gazes into your eyes. She’s the sister of recently adopted Chloe and shares many of the same wonderful traits—friendly, affectionate, and eager to please.

ADOPTED – NASH

April 1, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

**Adoption Pending**
Nash is a two-year-old male black and white rough-coat Border Collie, weighing 35 pounds.

He’s a happy-go-lucky Border Collie with a relaxed temperament—not your typical high-energy herding dog. Nash is a true unicorn—just as happy to lounge around as he is to play!

DOGS & CATS

Nash loves all dogs—big, small, playful, or reserved. He has been introduced to many dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments and gets along beautifully with all of them. He’s naturally submissive and avoids conflict, making him a fantastic companion for multi-dog households. His favorite games include chase and bitey-face, but he also enjoys just hanging out with his dog friends. Plus, he’s a pro snuggler when it comes to other dogs!
Bonus: Nash is also cat-friendly! He has shown a calm and appropriate demeanor around cats, making him a great candidate for a home with feline family members.

ADOPTED – FREDDIE

March 18, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

Hello! I am FREDDIE, Freddie Spaghetti, or just Fred. The vet thinks that I am approximately 6-9 months old. I weigh about 30 lbs and I won’t grow much more. I am as good natured as they come. I haven’t met a person or dog I haven’t liked. I love to play with toys, especially ones that are soft and squeaky, and I do like to pounce on a ball. I have not yet mastered the art of bringing the ball back, but my foster family is working on that with me. I do need to be supervised with toys because I will chew parts off and try to eat them.

I LOVE to cuddle and follow my foster parents around and I LOVE to take naps and play with my toys on the couch. I sleep very well in my crate at night, though I do like to whine a bit at first and then again in the morning when I am ready to get out. I settle down in my crate while my foster parents are away, but I still could use some additional work on crate training, and I prefer to have a pupsicle to help me calm down when I am put in there. My foster mom bought me a dog play pen that sets up easily inside the house and I really enjoy being in there. She says it is security for me, and peace of mind for her and I like that I can see everything that is going on around me!

ADOPTED – CHLOE

March 15, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

✨ Meet the Beautiful Miss Chloe! ✨

Chloe is a stunning one-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, weighing approximately 39 pounds and ready to embark on her next big adventure!

Chloe’s story began on a rough note — she and her sister were found abandoned on a rural road, skinny and unsure of the world. It was clear they had never experienced the warmth of a loving home or the comfort of kind human and dog relationships.

ADOPTED – FORREST

March 12, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

**ADOPTION PENDING**
FORREST is a delightful but shy Border collie mix with a soft, curly, medium length black and white coat. His front feet have short white socks while his back feet are both tipped in white. He is approximately 10 months of age and 33 pounds.

FORREST loves mealtime and appreciates treats for being a good boy! He also loves toys of all kinds; bones, ropes, stuffed animals, squeakers, etc. You’ll want to keep plenty around as he has been known to steal a shoe or two (no damage, just a collector). If FORREST isn’t entertaining himself with a toy he can likely be found taking a snooze on the couch.

ADOPTED – DARLA

March 9, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

DARLA is an 8-month-old, 28lb, black and white Border Collie mix. She has a low maintenance smooth coat and ears that don’t miss a beat. DARLA is, as you can imagine, quite darling and loves showing off for the camera!

ADOPTED – URZA

February 22, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

URZA is a smart, active, happy, baby girl. She is approximately 10 weeks and 10 pounds of energy. Her coat is a very soft black and white (almost looks like some brown is coming in around her cheeks) and we believe she will have a short or possibly medium coat. She loves people, toys, other dogs, and even cats. She longs to play with any person, canine, or feline that is up for fun times. She can be a little overzealous in her play, but she’ll learn boundaries as she grows and develops.

ADOPTED – PAUL

February 9, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

PAUL is a delightful 3 year old Border collie mix. He is a rough coat that weighs in at about 50 pounds. His long coat will require regular maintenance. Paul loves people. He has been put on this earth to be petted, loved, and adored. He took right to his foster family, wanting love and affection from day one. He has not met a stranger (makes immediate friends) he hasn’t loved, and they love him right back. Both the shelter and vet staffs adore him, reinforcing with “Paul is charming,” something we already knew.

As much as PAUL loves couch and cuddle time, it is very important for him to have a balance between activity and down time. Paul experienced injuries to his back legs (it is quite obvious observing his gait). When he first got to his foster home, he exhibited some stiffness and slowness. We got him out moving around and, in short order, he became more limber, enjoyed the activity, and began running with the other dogs while showing much greater mobility. We have consulted with an orthopedic specialist to find out more about the injuries. They suspect this happened a year or more ago, and while healed, the legs did not set properly. Paul will not be a hiking partner, but short, frequent walks, as well as backyard activity, will be very important for Paul in order to maintain muscle tone. He will also need to be kept at a lean body weight to achieve less stress on the joints. The Dr. suggests he lose another 2 – 3 pounds. Supplements and treatments will be discussed in more detail with applicants. Surgery is not a realistic option due to recovery time with little to no value-add for Paul. He should be able to live a very normal and happy life.

ADOPTED – BLUEBELL

January 27, 2025/in 2025, Alumni

Meet sweet little BLUEBELL. She is a 12-week-old, tri-colored, female border collie with a beautiful soft rough coat, who weighs in at about 10 lbs. Bluebell is a curious and friendly girl. She loves her foster dog friends, big and small. She is also good with the resident cat. Her favorite thing is to wrestle and play with the smaller foster dog in her foster home. She will come when called with sweet kissy voices. She is a smart girl who learns quickly and takes treats softly. Bluebell greets new people well. She may be a little shy at first, but is happy to come over and say hello after a few minutes.
