ADOPTION PENDING - MUSTARD is a black and white smooth coat border collie mix that weighs in at about 15 pounds. One of four brothers (two adopted), he is methodical in his approach. He wants to get the lay of the land before jumping in, but once he is confident you are good folk, he is all in. MUSTARD then wants all the attention. His happy place may just be out with his people playing and goofing around. Smart and observant, he is beginning to understand the commands “sit” and “crate.” He does well with his siblings and the adult dogs in the house. He mostly ignores our cats. He sometimes takes note of their presence but felines should not present a problem.

He is comfortable and enjoys the outdoors, but CRUZ has a strong drive to be inside where he can be safe, warm (or cool), secure, and near his family.

VALENTINO in Memoriam
In Memoriam: Valentino was left at a shelter on February 14th, emaciated at 48 pounds (versus his ideal weight of 70 lbs). His back legs were atrophied, he had severe orthopedic issues, and advanced arthritis, among many other issues. We thought we were likely seeing Val through the last few months of his life, but we were bamboozled! Val became younger right before our eyes. His walks got longer, he got stronger, and much to our amazement, he began galloping and rolling around playing with other dogs. He quickly became a neighborhood celebrity. Val even became 'Uncle Val' to our skinny little rescue puppy Oliver (who is now our Betty’s big little brother – fun note, Betty was also adopted from NCBCRA).
Mama Peach Pie’s Puppies all ADOPTED
Mama Peach Pie's Puppies all ADOPTED. MAMA PEACH PIE, barely more than a teenager, found herself in the family way in a small, rural shelter. The shelter called to tell us about her situation, & they were keen to transfer her to rescue before she delivered her puppies. So, we picked her up the next day. She arrived at her rescue foster home very pregnant & despite her difficult circumstances, as sweet as pie & puppyish. She simply couldn’t have any other name! The Pie puppies were born on December 10th, & at birth revealed their movie star good looks. As soon as their eyes & ears opened for business, we were delighted to see that the pups have also inherited Mama Peach Pie’s sweet & playful disposition, as well as her smarts. They are now excited & ready to find their forever homes.

Rowan is also fun, energetic, and very curious. She loves to explore the yard on her own, and mostly stays close to her humans when outside. Rowan is both agile and athletic. She will run and turn on a dime, then stop and look at you, as if to check in.

In fact, MOLLY'S favorite thing in life is her person! She will follow you around the house and settle a few feet away or at your feet if you’ll let her. At first MOLLY can be shy with people she doesn’t know, so she needs patient introductions to new people. That said, it doesn’t take MOLLY long to relax, and nothing can dampen her enthusiasm once she gets to know you. She is quick to settle in and adopt her person or persons. She is funny and goofy, and her personality will make you smile & laugh every day.

ARCHIE OWNER AVAILABLE
If interested in ARCHIE please contact Maya via email at mayareeseg@gmail.com Archie is six years old, about 60 pounds. He’s very active, loves chasing the tennis ball and pretty much any toy you’ll throw for him. He’s highly intelligent, loves belly rubs and ear scratches. He has a big personality that’s bound to make you laugh. Commands he knows: Sit, stay, down, come, wait, back up, heel. He knows how to bow. Out, leave it, enough, done, free, off, down. He knows how to pick up his leash if it’s dropped – Just point at it and say get it. He’ll pick up sunglasses and keys with that same command and hand it to you. He knows “clean up” if any food drops or spills. He’s potty trained, not destructive, doesn’t get separation anxiety. He loves to crawl up on the couch or bed and take a nap after a long day. He is not good with cats. He would be fine to be in a home with other dogs. He’s can be reactive with dogs outside of the home, especially when on a leash. He is fine with dogs in his doggy daycare. He is e-collar trained. No health issues. He does take 300mg of gabapentin and 100mg Of trazodone on occasion per the vets recommend it helps me not be as on edge if there is company coming over. He’s also on once monthly simparica trio. Neutered and up-to-date on vaccines.
He does have a bite history with adult humans, none serious. The bites have occurred when there has been what he perceives as a threat to his pack (e.g., someone unfamiliar tries to pet him) or when someone within his pack invades his space (e.g., he’s in his bed sleeping and doesn’t want to move, and you reach in to try to force him to). Biting always comes with warning signs, growl, lip raised. He never snaps without warning.
EDDIE OWNER AVAILABLE
If interested in EDDIE please contact Julian via email at mk.smith79@comcast.net I have a Border Collie mix I can't keep long term. I'm looking for help re-homing him. He needs a place without other dogs (big may be OK, not sure) or small children. I live in Newberg Oregon, but will travel almost anywhere to find him a good placement. I adopted Eddie, almost 5 years ago, when he was 2. He was an adoption return. Between what I see and what my agility instructor says, I think he was not well treated as a puppy. While it has been improving with training and activity, he's always had herding/nipping behavior.
PIPER OWNER AVAILABLE
If interested in PIPER please contact Will via email at lamtaichi@gmail.com Piper is a six year old female Border Collie mixed that I adopted from someone who didn’t have time for her two years ago. Piper is spayed but the former owner did not remember where the alteration took place, however, Piper has a blue mark on her lower tummy indicating the procedure. Piper has a lot of energy and is a hard working dog.
WALKER Shelter Available
If interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing WALKER, please contact Sonii by email at scorona@lodi.gov or call the Animal Shelter of Lodi at 209-333-6741 Hi, I’m Walker! I am currently residing in the animal shelter of Lodi, CA since early May. I’m 2 years old, weigh about 40 lbs, neutered, and current on all my vaccines. I am not microchipped. I was running stray for over 3 weeks before I was caught. The big noises and many people that surrounded the streets were very scary to me, so I would run as fast as I could when anybody looked my way and hid very well until anyone in sight was gone. Since being at the shelter, I’ve realized, there are good people who only want to help me, and I get excited any time I see them approach my kennel.
