ADOPTED – APOLLO
Apollo has been a joy to foster over the past few weeks. Apollo loves people and does great when there are visitors at the house. He also plays well with the 3 other dogs at his foster home and is fine sharing food or toys. He sits to receive pets and is quickly learning multiple commands such as “wait,” "sit," “crate,” “come,” and “get back." He walks well on a leash most of the time, but can become distracted, so he will need some additional work on leash training. He is sometimes overstimulated by small dogs and would do best in a home without small dogs. He is interested in cats, but can be easily redirected so he would likely be OK with dog savvy cats. Apollo has shown some interest in balls and toys but is more interested in playing with his dog pals, swimming or interacting with his person.
KAMMIE AVAILABLE
Meet lovely KAMMIE. KAMMIE is a medium-rough coat, red and white border collie / Aussie mix, 2-3 years old. KAMMIE has medium to low drive, but her BC genes might become more pronounced with time as she’s had some adjusting to do. She is cautious around new people, especially men, but as time goes on, she warms up more quickly and becomes a love bug, giving kisses and begging for pets and attention. We’re considering KAMMIE a bit of a “special needs” foster as her new human(s) should expect a period of her developing comfort, confidence, and familiarity with her new environment. That said, KAMMIE has shown no signs of aggression, rarely barks, and will be a loving and loyal family member for the one who is patient to give her the time she needs to adjust and trust.
ADOPTED – PIRELLI
Meet our sweet girl, Pirelli. She is a 6-month-old 36#, BC/Aussie mix with very pretty tri-color markings, and a cute little bobbed tail. Pirelli came in as a stray who was picked up by animal control near a tire store with her 3 littermates, so they all got tire names: Pirelli, Toyo, Apollo and Firestone! Pirelli's favorite thing is her person. She wants to be near her person most of the time. A very close second favorite thing is her foster brothers and sisters. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes and loves to play and wrestle. She would do well with another dog also likes to play. She would also be fine as an only dog as long as she gets plenty of attention and exercise. Pirelli is a little bit curious about the cat in her foster home, but she does not chase and is respectful of the cat, so she would very likely be OK in a home with dog savvy cats.
ADOPTED – MAGGIE
Meet MAGGIE, the approximately 10-month-old vibrant border collie mix with a zest for life and a heart of gold. Weighing a sprightly 30 pounds, MAGGIE is a bundle of energy and affection, always ready for her next adventure. MAGGIE is an enthusiastic greeter when she meets new humans.

ADOPTED – MUSTARD
ADOPTION PENDING - MUSTARD is a black and white smooth coat border collie mix that weighs in at about 15 pounds. One of four brothers (two adopted), he is methodical in his approach. He wants to get the lay of the land before jumping in, but once he is confident you are good folk, he is all in. MUSTARD then wants all the attention. His happy place may just be out with his people playing and goofing around. Smart and observant, he is beginning to understand the commands “sit” and “crate.” He does well with his siblings and the adult dogs in the house. He mostly ignores our cats. He sometimes takes note of their presence but felines should not present a problem.
ADOPTED BUN

In fact, his favorite place to be is with people. He needs nothing more than a human to pet him, and a lap in which to drop his head, to be content. He is comfortable and enjoys the outdoors, but CRUZ has a strong drive to be inside where he can be safe, warm (or cool), secure, and near his family.

ADOPTED – The Valentine’s Day Girls – MAIRA and Freya Adopted
MAIRA and Freya Adopted With super soft, downy coats, FREYA has lots of lovely ticking on her face and legs, and MAIRI (pronounced May-ra) is classic black and white.
VALENTINO in Memoriam
In Memoriam: Valentino was left at a shelter on February 14th, emaciated at 48 pounds (versus his ideal weight of 70 lbs). His back legs were atrophied, he had severe orthopedic issues, and advanced arthritis, among many other issues. We thought we were likely seeing Val through the last few months of his life, but we were bamboozled! Val became younger right before our eyes. His walks got longer, he got stronger, and much to our amazement, he began galloping and rolling around playing with other dogs. He quickly became a neighborhood celebrity. Val even became 'Uncle Val' to our skinny little rescue puppy Oliver (who is now our Betty’s big little brother – fun note, Betty was also adopted from NCBCRA).
Mama Peach Pie’s Puppies all ADOPTED
Mama Peach Pie's Puppies all ADOPTED. MAMA PEACH PIE, barely more than a teenager, found herself in the family way in a small, rural shelter. The shelter called to tell us about her situation, & they were keen to transfer her to rescue before she delivered her puppies. So, we picked her up the next day. She arrived at her rescue foster home very pregnant & despite her difficult circumstances, as sweet as pie & puppyish. She simply couldn’t have any other name! The Pie puppies were born on December 10th, & at birth revealed their movie star good looks. As soon as their eyes & ears opened for business, we were delighted to see that the pups have also inherited Mama Peach Pie’s sweet & playful disposition, as well as her smarts. They are now excited & ready to find their forever homes.
ADOPTED – ROWAN
As her name defines her, “ROWAN” is a “Little Redhead.” a red and white rough-coated border collie weighing a mere 28 pounds and standing about 19” at the shoulder. She is believed to be about one year old. Rowan is a wonderful, well-balanced little girl with brown inquisitive and curious eyes. She listens and thinks as she looks into you. Rowan is also fun, energetic, and very curious. She loves to explore the yard on her own, and mostly stays close to her humans when outside. Rowan is both agile and athletic. She will run and turn on a dime, then stop and look at you, as if to check in.

WALKER Shelter Available
If interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing WALKER, please contact Sonii by email at scorona@lodi.gov or call the Animal Shelter of Lodi at 209-333-6741 Hi, I’m Walker! I am currently residing in the animal shelter of Lodi, CA since early May. I’m 2 years old, weigh about 40 lbs, neutered, and current on all my vaccines. I am not microchipped. I was running stray for over 3 weeks before I was caught. The big noises and many people that surrounded the streets were very scary to me, so I would run as fast as I could when anybody looked my way and hid very well until anyone in sight was gone. Since being at the shelter, I’ve realized, there are good people who only want to help me, and I get excited any time I see them approach my kennel.
