The smallest of the three pups at 20 pounds, Jack is a rowdy, fun-loving, energetic boy, who loves people and other dogs with equal enthusiasm. Everyone and everything is his play pal. ADOPTED JAGGER
JAGGER is a darling 19-pound 4-month-old Queensland Heeler puppy who will steal your heart. Born at the end of May 2024, JAGGER is playful, sassy, athletic and a cuddlebug with his foster brother RIN. This is a puppy with lots of energy for fun and games, and maybe a little mischief! He is most happy when he can lead the pack in a game of chase, wrestle while RIN lies on the floor, or nap near your feet or with his buddies. JAGGER is very athletic, having no problem in jumping up on things that are much higher than him - the bed, the couch, and more! A fast learner, JAGGER will love to learn new things that will make him think as well as play & exercise.
ADOPTED – PRESLEY
PRESLEY and his brother Jagger, the Rock and Roll Boys, were found as strays, brought into the shelter by a Good Samaritan, and from there it was on to NCBCRA. They are 4 1/2 month old smooth coat black and white Border collie, Queensland Heeler mixes. PRESLEY (26 lbs.) will tell you he’s the better looking of the two, but Jagger will tell you the same story. All we can tell you for sure is that it was time the brothers led their own separate lives, so PRESLEY wound up coming to Tehama County, while Jagger is fostered in Placer County. They have really flourished apart, and now they are ready for their forever homes.

ADOPTED – MUSTARD
ADOPTION PENDING - MUSTARD is a black and white smooth coat border collie mix that weighs in at about 15 pounds. One of four brothers (two adopted), he is methodical in his approach. He wants to get the lay of the land before jumping in, but once he is confident you are good folk, he is all in. MUSTARD then wants all the attention. His happy place may just be out with his people playing and goofing around. Smart and observant, he is beginning to understand the commands “sit” and “crate.” He does well with his siblings and the adult dogs in the house. He mostly ignores our cats. He sometimes takes note of their presence but felines should not present a problem.
ADOPTED BUN
Meet BUN! BUN is a tri-colored, smooth coated border collie mix boy about 5 months of age, 26 pounds. One of four brothers (the other three doing very well in their new homes), BUN has really blossomed into a confident young boy. Mama Peach Pie’s Puppies all ADOPTED
Mama Peach Pie's Puppies all ADOPTED. MAMA PEACH PIE, barely more than a teenager, found herself in the family way in a small, rural shelter. The shelter called to tell us about her situation, & they were keen to transfer her to rescue before she delivered her puppies. So, we picked her up the next day. She arrived at her rescue foster home very pregnant & despite her difficult circumstances, as sweet as pie & puppyish. She simply couldn’t have any other name! The Pie puppies were born on December 10th, & at birth revealed their movie star good looks. As soon as their eyes & ears opened for business, we were delighted to see that the pups have also inherited Mama Peach Pie’s sweet & playful disposition, as well as her smarts. They are now excited & ready to find their forever homes.
ADOPTED – DODGER
ADOPTED - Allow me the pleasure of introducing you to a very special member of the NCBCRA family, DODGER. Dodger is approximately two years old and weighs 45 pounds. When Dodger came into the program, it appeared he had never lived inside a home and had no human interaction, and now it has all become 2nd nature to him. DODGER loves human interaction. He quickly approaches new humans. He will give you the biggest grin, position himself adorably on your side, and look deeply into your eyes, asking for love and attention. Once he knows you, Dodger is affectionate and loving. I have to admit it’s the cutest thing!
ADOPTED ZUMA
ZUMA is BC mix with lovely soft ears and a smooth coat that is a dream to touch. And he loves everyone he meets! His lovely white nose makes look a bit like a clown, but that is just him fooling you; he is very smart. He has grown into a lovey pup that is learning basic commands like sit and stay. He is crate-trained, and when it’s meal time, he will run into his crate and sit, waiting nicely for his food, Best of all: he is making good progress learning to potty outside. He loves to learn, and is treat and toy motivated, so he will be a joy to train. His favorite toys are soft squeaky toys.

ADOPTED – GIDGET
They don’t come any cuter than our sweet little GIDGET! She is about 1 year of age and very much energetic and puppy-like. Weighing about 20 pounds, GIDGET is a rather petite border collie mix and just right at her current weight. ADOPTED COCO
Meet our sweet little COCO! She is a 32lb, 1yr old BC mix. She has an easy care smooth coat and darling little spots on her nose and feet. She is such a great size. She may put on a few pounds and fill out some, but she will always be on the smaller side. COCO loves other dogs! She just wants to play, play, play. She would do well with another young dog who also likes to wrestle and chase. Older dogs may be annoyed by her exuberance and desire to play. She will chase the cats in her foster home, so she needs a cat free environment. She is very food and praise motivated and is a fast learner. She is going to be a joy to train. She is very athletic, loves the water and would do well in any kind of dog sport. She would make a great hiking/running/adventure partner as well.
