CRUZ AVAILABLE

September 30, 2023/in Featured, Our Dogs

CRUZ is a four year old, 40 pound short coat black & white with classic border collie markings. His favorite place to be is with people. He immediately takes to people and is good with young children. He needs nothing more than a human to pet him, and a lap in which to drop his head. CRUZ also enjoys a good game of fetch. Most times he will bring the ball back to you and drop it or let you take it from his gentle mouth. When you tire of tossing he’ll just hang out for more petting. CRUZ gets along well with all the other dogs, from larger to smaller and older to younger. He largely ignores the cats.

GIDGET AVAILABLE

September 29, 2023/in Featured, Our Dogs

They don’t come any cuter than our sweet little GIDGET! She is about 1 year of age and very much energetic and puppy-like. Weighing about 20 pounds, GIDGET is a rather petite border collie mix and just right at her current weight. Her beautiful golden eyes are always alert, and she is ready for anything you can dish out to her.

COCO AVAILABLE

September 25, 2023/in Featured, Our Dogs

Meet our sweet little COCO! She is a 32lb, 1yr old BC mix. She has an easy care smooth coat and darling little spots on her nose and feet. She is such a great size. She may put on a few pounds and fill out some, but she will always be on the smaller side.

COCO loves other dogs! She just wants to play, play, play. She would do well with another young dog who also likes to wrestle and chase. Older dogs may be annoyed by her exuberance and desire to play. She will chase the cats in her foster home, so she needs a cat free environment. She is very food and praise motivated and is a fast learner. She is going to be a joy to train. She is very athletic, loves the water and would do well in any kind of dog sport. She would make a great hiking/running/adventure partner as well.

AVALON Boys of Summer AVAILABLE

September 24, 2023/in Featured, Our Dogs

AVALON (Male) was the smallest of the pups but is now catching up to his siblings, weighing in at 18 pounds. He has a soft short coat which is mostly black with some brownish-red highlighting and ticking around his nose and on his chest. Avalon (Av, Avy), enjoys snuggling, LOVES his lap time, gets along well with all his doggy friends, and seems to be ok with cats.

ADOPTED – PISMO

September 24, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

PISMO (Male) is 19 pounds and oh so sweet. This beautiful boy is a black and white smooth coat with ticking. He loves a good play session with his siblings but also loves a quiet cuddle. A fast learner, Pismo will love to learn new things that will make him think as well as play & exercise. He might enjoy dog sports like agility, or canine scent work (aka nosework). PISMO will want to be with you, doing things together that you will both enjoy. He can also entertain himself with toys during down time. PISMO is willing to do whatever is asked of him and then snuggle with you afterward.

JESS AVAILABLE

September 21, 2023/in Featured, Our Dogs

JESS is a typical, young herding dog in that he needs exercise, activity, and stimulation. He is good at entertaining himself. You can see how entertaining he is in the videos, playing with his toys and enjoying his bone. He also loves to engage with his humans. If his foster mom is not in the same room, he will go looking for her. Jess loves to go for walks in the neighborhood. During his walks, he is on the look-out for anything that moves, i.e., squirrels, rats, cats, lizards, bunnies. He sees them all and wants to chase. I would recommend a home without cats or other small pets. He has played very well with other dogs at the dog park and does not show any signs of aggression. He walks pretty well on a leash, is not over the top with pulling, and will follow with a little tug on the leash and a “Let’s go.”  He loves walks! On walks, he is not bothered by other dogs or cars. He avoids large trucks that make noise, as the noise seems to make him a little nervous. He has not been reactive to bicycles, skateboarders, or motorcycles.

ADOPTED – MAISEY

September 17, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

MAISEY is a darling 9-month-old, 40lb (and gaining) Border collie mix. She is sure to catch your eye with her tri-colors and her spotted nose! She has a low-maintenance smooth coat and the best floppy ears.

MAISEY is a shy but friendly girl. She very happily greets anybody that walks in the door. MAISEY adores her foster siblings and would do best in a home with other dogs to help her continue to learn how to be a dog. She tries and wants to play, but just has not quite figured out what she is supposed to do.

ADOPTED UNA

August 31, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

UNA is 12 weeks and 15 pounds with a soft black coat, classic white markings, and the most astonishing ears!   Occasionally NASA calls on her to listen into deep space for them.  Her coat will probably be short (not smooth) to medium in length. And her personality?  “Play” is Una’s middle name. She loves to play fetch with whatever toy or ball is thrown. She also loves to play tug with her foster mom and dad, or with any or all of the big dogs in the house. Her adult dog buddies Perkins and Skittles accommodate her whenever they are together. Una has recently graduated into the big dog room, where the big dogs, in turn, join her for socialization and play.

ADOPTED – PATRICK

August 30, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

PATRICK is a WONDERFUL dog with a lot of potential!  He’s approximately seven months old, weighs 48 pounds, and has a short, smooth, black coat with white markings.

PATRICK is a playful, energetic, loving adolescent pup. He has had a ton of dog social experiences and exposure. He loves his doggy friends. One of his favorite things is to romp and play in the yard with a doggy pal. He enjoys playing chase, bitey face, and WrestleMania. He will adjust his playstyle at the suggestion of his doggy friend.  PATRICK also loves all humans.  He is willing to approach humans, give them a little kiss, and then he’s off to play again. He loves balls, chews, and squeaky toys. There are never enough toys for PATRICK to choose from. He typically finds a toy and will self-entertain. As much as Patrick loves toys, he can also settle nicely in the house.

ADOPTED – MIYA

August 3, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

Our little cuddlebug, MIYA, is a mere 25 lbs, 1 year old, with a smooth, gorgeous tri-color coat. She loves to snuggle on the couch or in bed (if allowed she would LOVE that). She will be fine in a crate overnight as well. Miya gets along well with the other dogs in the house. She really loves the company of other young dogs to play with. They provide her much needed comfort and outlet for her energy. This girl loves to play and wrestle!

ADOPTED – OWEN

July 19, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

OWEN is 6 months of age and slight of build at 28 pounds. His smooth coat and bat ears point to his being a McNab / border collie mix. His shiny coat is dark brown with white markings on his chest. OWEN gets along well with dogs young and old, but leans towards and prefers his people. When let out of his crate, he wants pets before going outside. When outside he will be at the center of all activity, yet will seek out his humans for affirmation, pets, and love. He is all about climbing up on the bench with his foster dad, as long as Jet or Skittles hasn’t beaten him to it.

ADOPTED – JET

July 17, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

JET craves love and affection. At 3 years and 41 pounds, this beautifully marked rough coat (medium length) red and white border collie is all about his people. His golden eyes will make your heart melt. From minute one of their first meeting, JET leaned into his foster dad for pets and lovin’. He really wants to be close to his people…like if he could get inside your shirt close that would be just fine with JET.

ADOPTED – GiGi

July 17, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

Meet GiGi!   Gigi is a beautiful red and while rough-coated border collie mix.  She is an approximately 2-year-old, 38-pound spayed female.    She has beautiful brown eyes, soft ears, and a gorgeous, feathered tail.    She is very friendly and wants to engage with everyone she meets, even at the vet’s office.

GiGi is a typical, young herding dog in that she needs lots of exercise, activity, and stimulation.  Without it, she gets bored and looks for things to do.  GiGi loves to be out and about, enjoying walks in the neighborhood and going to the dog park.  She generally plays very well with the other dogs and does not show any signs of aggression.  That said, she does try to herd some of the other dogs and can play a little rough at times.  And she sometimes thinks it’s fun to steal other dogs’ balls or to play when another dog doesn’t really don’t want to play.  However, she responds well to direction from others and to being told “that’s enough.”  GiGi loves walks!  She is great on a leash; she does not pull and will generally sit when asked to sit.  She is learning to bring the leash to the door for her walks.  She gets very excited when “leash” is mentioned.  On her walks, she is not bothered by cars or trucks, but she is not fond of the roaring sounds of motorcycles.

ADOPTED – LILY LANGTRY

July 17, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

Say hello to LILY LANGTRY, a 1-year-old, 27-pound beauty, who loves nothing more than courting love and attention from everyone she meets (including the staff at the vet’s office)!  Lily is what we like to call a “Velcro border collie,” leaning into whoever is closest to her and looking up at them adoringly.  She is also a spirited, fun-loving girl, who runs rocket fast, plays, and leaps for the sheer joy of it.

ADOPTED – PEPPER

July 14, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

PEPPER is a smooth coat border collie cross weighing a slender 33 pounds and standing about 23” at the shoulder.  She is about eight months old (DOB 11/19/2022).  Pepper is a beautiful, well-balanced girl with large dark brown inquisitive and curious eyes.  She is white, with a sprinkle of black spots on her skin.  Pepper has black accents on her face and up right expressive erect ears.

ADOPTED – BERNARD

June 22, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

BERNARD, aka BERNIE, is a happy, delightful, 3-year-old tri-colored border collie mix with a medium rough coat. He weighs in at 36 lbs. Bernie fit into his foster home quite well from the word go. His preference is to spend his time with his people, but also enjoys the company of his four foster siblings (male and female) and they enjoy his company. They love to run, play, and wrestle around. After some running and playing, he loves to join his foster dad on the swinging bench for pets and cuddles. When inside, if we give him a sliver on the couch he’ll squeeze his way in or just make his home on dad’s lap (try saying no to that face).

ADOPTED – PRESLEY

June 21, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

PRESLEY is a very active, energetic, and inquisitive little girl with a bounding personality.  She is a rough coat border collie weighing 32 pounds and standing about 22” at the shoulder.  Presley is seven months old and displays many puppy tendencies.  She is a black tri-colored border collie as she has copper markings over both of her brown eyes as well as copper markings on either side of her face.

ADOPTED – JASPER

June 17, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

Meet our sweet and silly JASPER! He is a 38 pound, 2-year-old BC/Aussie mix with a beautiful red, full rough coat and gorgeous golden eyes. But there’s more to JASPER than his dashing good looks!  He is the life of the party; in fact, he knows how to make his own party.  JASPER’s favorite thing is his toys. He loves to flip toys around in the air and play like a puppy. He also loves to be with his people and is very friendly and affectionate with everyone he meets. JASPER gets along great with the dogs at his foster home, but is overly cat-curious. He has not hurt the cats, but he is too attentive to the cats and it would be in his best interest to be in a cat-free environment.

ADOPTED – TRISCUIT

June 6, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

TRISCUIT is the smallest of the pups at 6.3 pounds, a couple of pounds smaller than all the rest, but don’t let her size fool you. This gorgeous tri-colored girlie is spunk & energy in a small container. She is very energetic & adventurous, willing to check out new things on her own. Confident & a fast learner, Triscuit will love to learn new things that will make her think as well as play & exercise. She might enjoy dog sports like agility, or canine scentwork (aka nosework). She will not be content to sit on the sidelines, waiting for you to have time to do things with her. She will want to be with you, doing things together that you will both enjoy. Because Triscuit is both treat & toy-motivated, & wicked smart, she learns quickly, & will be so rewarding to bond with & train. She connects beautifully with people, but she can also play with toys on her own. She will be willing to do whatever you ask her to do & then snuggle with you afterward.

ADOPTED – BLUEBERRY

June 6, 2023/in 2023, Alumni

BLUEBERRY is an approximately 8.5 pound package of adorable with his off-center blaze & heart-shaped nose. He is energetic & can show incredible focus for whatever he’s doing, but he can also settle nicely. The word self-possessed comes to mind when thinking about this little guy. Blueberry is great with the other dogs in his foster home, & is playful with people, so he’s not yet as into toys as he is into playing with other dogs & his person. In fact, at this point his favorite toy is the flirt pole, which he has to play with his human. This boy will want to be with you, doing things together that you will both enjoy. He is fast learner & is treat & people-motivated. He is also a snuggler, & wiggle-bunny. Blueberry will love to train & learn new things that will make him think as much if not more than simply playing or exercising. He might enjoy dog sports like agility, or canine scent work (aka nose work). Blueberry will be willing to do whatever you ask him to do & then snuggle with you afterward.
