CINDY
Here is Cindy enjoying their cabin and taking a trip to the Presidio for walks with Joseph. She is living the good life!
Roisin’s Success Story
From Mom Tara: We adopted Roisin (formally Kimber) January 2020 and she has been a wonderful addition to our family. She loves hiking, taking a dip in a stream or lake, rolling in the snow, and running along on bike rides (on no traffic roads/trails). She is so affectionate!!
Rascal Success Story
Rascal, adopted September 13, 2020, is still gaining confidence out in the big world. In the beginning, he was so nervous to even leave my front porch. We just kept "practicing" slowly and he is doing so well. We now go on long walks by the river and he loves meeting new people. But his favorite pastime is "PLAY BALL!
Jasper adopted 3-1-20
It has been 6 months now since we adopted Jasper, just wanted to give you a quick update. He loves quarantine, gained weight pretty quickly and had 3 teeth extracted in June (Including a canine!)
Jasper completed his first training class last month and goes to a barn hunt every week, even finds the rats faster than our mutt Bold who has been doing it for a year now.
I am hoping to thru-hike the Tahoe Rim Trail next year with him, so we did some trial backpacking trips this summer. He is great company on the trail and loves al the time outdoors
Successful Adoption Story – Ellie
We started right way with Obedience training and he was a star so we continued to AKC Good Citizen Certification and then AKC Novice Tricks. Practicing was his favorite part of the day! He began training for therapy dog, going into Rehabilitation facilities and Hospice and then Covid-19 came. We were not able to complete the training but Ellie eagerly continued the training at home.
Successful Adoption Story – Dirk
We’ve been wanting to run this item for a few months now and after the hubbub of the holiday season and New Year it’s nice to reflect back on some of 2014’s successful adoptions. One such Success Story is Dirk, who now spends his days at family run Pedroncelli Winery in Sonoma County. Dirk’s duties range from vineyard patrol to Goodwill Ambassador to CEO of relaxation - all jobs he takes to heart and at which he excels! See more of Dirk and learn about this jewel of a winery at the Pedroncelli Winery website and their Facebook page.
Successful Adoption Story – Paddington
As smart as they are, border collies are often said to ‘need a job.’ Former NCBCRA rescue dog Cole, now known as Paddington, was ‘hired’ on New Year’s Day to become not only a companion to new owner Kay, but to work as a service dog. Together, they are both working with a trainer to become a team. Kay reports that in less than two weeks, Paddington has already started to alert her to medical emergencies. On the non-working side of Kay’s and Paddington’s partnership, Kay reports to Cole’s foster parents...
Successful Adoption Story – Quincy
After contacting a few different folks in the rescue world I stumbled upon red & white Border Collie Casey (now Quincy). As soon as I got the call from Peggy at Northern California Border Rescue & Adoptions with his unique story I was in the car the next day. You see Quincy has difficulty seeing, particularly in daylight but for some reason it didn’t faze me at all.
Rocky, our first success story
Rocky, our first success story, as told by Rocky’s new owner, Gwen, in an email to Rocky’s foster mom, Peggy Welder . . . A note to update you on Rocky. We decided to keep the name Rocky, Dave says he’s had a rocky start to life, it fits him. He and Kelly [Rocky’s tri-colored pack mate] are getting along just fabulously. They are so compatible it is amazing.
Biscuit & the Anderson Family
Just thought we’d check in and let you know how Biscuit is doing. We’ve taken her on a few hikes and she can totally keep up. We went to a place in Auburn and she came back with red paws from all the red dirt! We soon realized she does not like baths! But she was a trooper and cleaned up nicely.
