COCO AVAILABLE
COCO is a 50 pound, 1.5 year-old delight, with a tri-colored, easy care smooth coat. She can be a little bit shy when she first meets someone new, but once she gets to know you, she is a sweet and affectionate cuddle bug. She likes to start her day with an early breakfast and a survey of the yard until her human sibling leaves for school. Then she hangs with her mom for a bit, waiting to go for a walk to a nearby field on leash, heeling nicely, of course. COCO especially loves her next morning ritual: walking and/or running off-leash on the ATV trail adjacent to the field.

SHELBY AVAILABLE
Meet our SHELBY, a very special girl who has come a long way from her beginnings in rescue. She is ready to find her special person(s) who will provide the home and love she dreams of and certainly deserves, a home at which she can thrive and blossom. SHELBY is coming up on her 3rd birthday (May). She has a medium length silky red and white coat and weighs about 55 lbs. Her golden eyes seem to look into your very soul searching for love. SHELBY is looking for her person, or perhaps a couple, who has experience with dogs who are a bit reserved around new people. She is a bit slow to warm up, but once that light goes on she will lick your hands as if to say, “Oh, you’re not so bad.” When meeting new people SHELBY must be allowed to warm up to them at her own pace. Some light encouragement doesn’t hurt; take proper steps and it does not take her long to get curious and stay close-by.

TEDDY – ADOPTED
**ADOPTED**
Meet TEDDY! A darling, sweet and cuddly 11-week-old puppy, TEDDY is 14 pounds with a smooth beautifully marked black, white and kisses of tan (around his ears, eyebrows, and bum!) coat. He is highly socialized and loves being with his humans, playing with toys, receiving hugs and kisses, cuddling on the couch and receiving belly rubs.

ADOPTED – DAPHNE
DAPHNE is a one year old female border collie and Australian shepherd cross with a beautiful blue merle coat. She weighs at just 35 lbs. Daphne has one brown eye and one blue eye, which melts your heart when she gazes into your eyes. She’s the sister of recently adopted Chloe and shares many of the same wonderful traits—friendly, affectionate, and eager to please.

ADOPTED – NASH
**Adoption Pending**
Nash is a two-year-old male black and white rough-coat Border Collie, weighing 35 pounds. He’s a happy-go-lucky Border Collie with a relaxed temperament—not your typical high-energy herding dog. Nash is a true unicorn—just as happy to lounge around as he is to play! DOGS & CATS Nash loves all dogs—big, small, playful, or reserved. He has been introduced to many dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments and gets along beautifully with all of them. He’s naturally submissive and avoids conflict, making him a fantastic companion for multi-dog households. His favorite games include chase and bitey-face, but he also enjoys just hanging out with his dog friends. Plus, he’s a pro snuggler when it comes to other dogs!
Bonus: Nash is also cat-friendly! He has shown a calm and appropriate demeanor around cats, making him a great candidate for a home with feline family members.

ADOPTED – FREDDIE
Hello! I am FREDDIE, Freddie Spaghetti, or just Fred. The vet thinks that I am approximately 6-9 months old. I weigh about 30 lbs and I won’t grow much more. I am as good natured as they come. I haven’t met a person or dog I haven’t liked. I love to play with toys, especially ones that are soft and squeaky, and I do like to pounce on a ball. I have not yet mastered the art of bringing the ball back, but my foster family is working on that with me. I do need to be supervised with toys because I will chew parts off and try to eat them. I LOVE to cuddle and follow my foster parents around and I LOVE to take naps and play with my toys on the couch. I sleep very well in my crate at night, though I do like to whine a bit at first and then again in the morning when I am ready to get out. I settle down in my crate while my foster parents are away, but I still could use some additional work on crate training, and I prefer to have a pupsicle to help me calm down when I am put in there. My foster mom bought me a dog play pen that sets up easily inside the house and I really enjoy being in there. She says it is security for me, and peace of mind for her and I like that I can see everything that is going on around me!

ADOPTED – CHLOE
✨ Meet the Beautiful Miss Chloe! ✨ Chloe is a stunning one-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, weighing approximately 39 pounds and ready to embark on her next big adventure! Chloe’s story began on a rough note — she and her sister were found abandoned on a rural road, skinny and unsure of the world. It was clear they had never experienced the warmth of a loving home or the comfort of kind human and dog relationships.

FORREST – ADOPTION PENDING
**ADOPTION PENDING**
FORREST is a delightful but shy Border collie mix with a soft, curly, medium length black and white coat. His front feet have short white socks while his back feet are both tipped in white. He is approximately 10 months of age and 33 pounds. FORREST loves mealtime and appreciates treats for being a good boy! He also loves toys of all kinds; bones, ropes, stuffed animals, squeakers, etc. You’ll want to keep plenty around as he has been known to steal a shoe or two (no damage, just a collector). If FORREST isn’t entertaining himself with a toy he can likely be found taking a snooze on the couch.

ADOPTED – DARLA
DARLA is an 8-month-old, 28lb, black and white Border Collie mix. She has a low maintenance smooth coat and ears that don’t miss a beat. DARLA is, as you can imagine, quite darling and loves showing off for the camera!

ADOPTED – URZA
URZA is a smart, active, happy, baby girl. She is approximately 10 weeks and 10 pounds of energy. Her coat is a very soft black and white (almost looks like some brown is coming in around her cheeks) and we believe she will have a short or possibly medium coat. She loves people, toys, other dogs, and even cats. She longs to play with any person, canine, or feline that is up for fun times. She can be a little overzealous in her play, but she’ll learn boundaries as she grows and develops.

ADOPTED – PAUL
PAUL is a delightful 3 year old Border collie mix. He is a rough coat that weighs in at about 50 pounds. His long coat will require regular maintenance. Paul loves people. He has been put on this earth to be petted, loved, and adored. He took right to his foster family, wanting love and affection from day one. He has not met a stranger (makes immediate friends) he hasn’t loved, and they love him right back. Both the shelter and vet staffs adore him, reinforcing with “Paul is charming,” something we already knew. As much as PAUL loves couch and cuddle time, it is very important for him to have a balance between activity and down time. Paul experienced injuries to his back legs (it is quite obvious observing his gait). When he first got to his foster home, he exhibited some stiffness and slowness. We got him out moving around and, in short order, he became more limber, enjoyed the activity, and began running with the other dogs while showing much greater mobility. We have consulted with an orthopedic specialist to find out more about the injuries. They suspect this happened a year or more ago, and while healed, the legs did not set properly. Paul will not be a hiking partner, but short, frequent walks, as well as backyard activity, will be very important for Paul in order to maintain muscle tone. He will also need to be kept at a lean body weight to achieve less stress on the joints. The Dr. suggests he lose another 2 – 3 pounds. Supplements and treatments will be discussed in more detail with applicants. Surgery is not a realistic option due to recovery time with little to no value-add for Paul. He should be able to live a very normal and happy life.

ADOPTED – Dahlia
DAHLIA is a sweet and lively 10-pound puppy who will steal your heart. At about 2 ½ months of age, this girl is ready to go to her forever home. DAHLIA is energetic & smart, so be prepared with games, training opportunities, or future dog sports. This girlie likes rough and tumble play, and can stand up to foster friends with spunk & energy. A fast learner, DAHLIA will love to learn new things that will make her think as well as play & exercise. She might enjoy dog sports like agility, or canine scentwork (aka nosework).

ADOPTED – BLUEBELL
Meet sweet little BLUEBELL. She is a 12-week-old, tri-colored, female border collie with a beautiful soft rough coat, who weighs in at about 10 lbs. Bluebell is a curious and friendly girl. She loves her foster dog friends, big and small. She is also good with the resident cat. Her favorite thing is to wrestle and play with the smaller foster dog in her foster home. She will come when called with sweet kissy voices. She is a smart girl who learns quickly and takes treats softly. Bluebell greets new people well. She may be a little shy at first, but is happy to come over and say hello after a few minutes.

ADOPTED – JANET
JANET is a seven-month-old, smooth-coated border collie cross, who weighs in at 38 pounds and stands about 24” at the shoulder. She is a well-balanced girl with inquisitive and curious brown eyes. She has a true black and white coat and freckles on her legs. JANET is goofy, fun, energetic, and very curious. She loves to explore the yard on her own, and mostly stays close to her humans when outside. Both agile and athletic, she will run and turn on a dime, then stop, crouch, and look at you. If she hears no command or gets no response, she will continue to run and play on her own.

ADOPTED – ZIP
LITTLE ZIP is a playful, joyful sprite of a girl. A year old and weighing 29 pounds, Zip likes people, greeting them happily, playing with them, and snuggling in an available lap, whenever she has the chance. (See the photo with her foster dad. She thinks he’s pretty special.) She also likes other dogs, large and small. When a little dog came to visit, Zippy let the little dog roll her over on her back, and she adjusted her play style to fit the style of the little dog.

RUTHIE OWNER AVAILABLE
If interested in RUTHIE please contact Lydia via email at mushutoast@yahoo.com Ruthie 7 month old Border collie / Aussie mix. 26 lbs. Good with dogs, cats, and older kids. Are you a morning person? Then Ruthie is your girl! She's ready to get up and watch sunrises with you. Ruthie gets along with dogs, but really wants a person to call her own. She loves cats, but maybe a little too much for some cats since she likes to lick their face and playfully chase sometimes. She is sweet and affectionate and would make a great buddy to go out and do things with. Ruthie does not want to be left alone at home for a traditional 8 hour work day and her future parents should plan on training classes or maybe even agility to keep up with her and keep her body and mind busy. She does well in a crate and walks curiously on leash but does not constantly pull.

MAX OWNER AVAILABLE
If interested in MAX please contact Gwendolyn via email at zoegwen2000@gmail.com Max is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Sacramento, CA, and is ready to meet the right adopter who can meet-adopt here. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt. This handsome guy is Max. He needs a home because his person passed away. Max was born on December 27th, 2023. He weighs about 34 pounds. Max knows sit. He is working on “look at me” and is working on “drop it”. He is also house trained. Max is a loyal guy who feels more comfortable with women than men. Kind, fair men can get him to warm up. We think a home with kids would be too busy for Max. Max is best with smaller dogs, and dogs who aren’t rambunctious. As for his home life, he will be best as the only dog. As for cats, he lives with cats but wants to chase so it is probably best if he does not live with them.

ZELDA OWNER AVAILABLE
If interested in ZELDA please contact Judith via email at judyraftery@gmail.com Zelda is a sweet and loving 5 year old Border Collie we adopted from a rescue organization in Arizona as a puppy. She has the kind and gentle nature typical of her breed, making her a great companion. Zelda is intelligent and energetic, which is typical for a Border Collie, and she thrives in environments where she can engage in activities that challenge her mind and body. Despite her high energy, she's affectionate and enjoys spending time with people - and she loves a good tummy rub! She would probably be best as the only pet in a home as she is very protective. Zelda is good with our grandchildren when they visit so I believe she would be good with children in the household. Zelda is looking for a family or individual who can provide her with the care, attention, and exercise she needs to flourish in her new home. We live in Napa but would be willing to drive her to a new home in California.
