ADOPTED – BRODY
ADOPTED – Let us introduce Mr. BRODY! BRODY is a fun-loving 35-pound ball of energy with a beautiful rough coat. BRODY is petite in size and approximately 10 months old so he’s done growing. He is the perfect size! BRODY is crate trained and easy to live with in the house. He’s cooperative to do what the humans ask. He loves all toys and laying down to chew a bone during evening hours.
ADOPTED – CEMI (See’Me)
ADOPTED - Meet CEMI (See’ Me), a 50-pound 4-year-old rough coat boy with classic black and white markings. CEMI is kind, happy and smart, a ‘velcro’ dog who wants to be with his owner all the time. He may do very well as an only dog. CEMI has classic BC personality traits such as reacting to crazy energy (in his foster dog pack) and watching for squirrels. It is said that he reacts to livestock, so a home without horses or cattle, may be in order. CEMI has not been tested with cats.
ADOPTED – KERIYON
KERIYON (“K”) is quite the gentleman. He is great with people. Everywhere he goes folks adore him. The shelter said he was a great dog, the vet called his fosters, who they know quite well, and recommended we take him into rescue, and the groomer commented on how good he was for them. They were all smiles when his foster dad picked him up. “K” gets along well with other dogs and seems neutral with cats. Our dog savvy cats are not afraid of him.
Adopted – Mr. Tibbs
Adopted - Adoption Pending - Mr. Tibbs (Tibbs) is a 10 month old border collie mix. He can be shy at first with new people and new dogs but warms up quickly. He loves wrestling with his foster brother & sister and would do best in a home with another young and/or playful & energetic dog.
ADOPTED – OZZIE
ADOPTED – OZZIE is a Border collie / Australian Shepard cross with a beautiful, smooth, Tri-colored coat. He weighs 49.5 pounds and stands 24 inches at the shoulder. Ozzie is estimated to be one to be two-years-old. Ozzie is a beautiful, tall, well-balanced boy with brown eyes and an extremely sweet personality.
ADOPTED – SADIE
ADOPTED – Say hello to our sweet SADIE girl. She is 1 year old BC/Aussie mix with a super soft, tri color, medium length coat. She is about 40lbs and has the most beautiful fluffy tail. Her marking are quite stunning! Sadie's favorite thing is split between her person and other dogs. She will follow her foster mom around the house, but when it's play time or the other dogs in the house get excited about something she is right there ready to go.
ADOPTED – JOLENE
JOLENE (JO)
Meet JO, a 34-pound 1 ½ -year-old smooth coat girl with classic black and white markings. JO has beautiful standup ears in her foster family’s eyes and looks like a McNabb.
ADOPTED – FRANKIE
ADOPTED – FRANKIE is a 34lb, smooth coat male BC who is about 1yr old. His favorite thing is his person and he will follow you around the house and lay nearby. He will also get up on the couch and lay next to you and will even cuddle if encouraged. FRANKIE loves other dogs and gets along well with his pack mates in foster. He would do well in a home with or without other dogs. He would enjoy the company of another playful dog, but would also be happy to get all the attention. He is submissive with other dogs so any other dogs in the household would have to be OK with that. FRANKIE leaves the cats in his foster home alone and would be fine in a household with dog savvy cats. He does not seem too ball motivated, but that could change. He loves to shred plush toys! He is still a young boy and will chew things, like socks or shoes, if given the opportunity. A little puppy proofing and some chew toys and he is a happy camper.
ADOPTED – ZIGGY
ADOPTED – ZIGGY is a 4 ½ month young puppy with a soft medium coat who weighs in at 22 lbs. ZIGGY, aka Zig Zag, Ziggles, or just plain old Zig, loves people and loves other dogs. Zig loves to be petted, whether its belly rubs on the couch or running over to sit wherever we happen to be. He will jump up on people if he is not being given the attention he feels he deserves, but he is so light and gentle that, at this stage, it is not a big problem. None the less we are discouraging that behavior. ZIGGY will need plenty of bones and toys as his big boy teeth replace those baby teeth. He is easy to redirect to toys if he should be chewing on something undesirable. ZIG does understand “no” but will give you that “who, me?” look. It’s adorable, trust me. He is starting to get “sit” on command and is more praise than treat motivated so training should be lots of fun and very rewarding.
ADOPTED – DANE
ADOPTED – DANE is a rough-coated border collie, currently weighing 42 pounds and standing 24” inches at the shoulder. He is under one-year-old and has been neutered. Dane is a beautiful, tall, well-balanced boy with light green inquisitive eyes. He is true black and white with no dilution spots. Dane has black freckles on his nose. DANE is fun, energetic, and very curious. He loves to explore the yard on his own, and mostly stays close by his humans when outside. Dane is both agile and athletic but has a puppy clumsiness.
ADOPTED – WOODY
ADOPTED – Woody is a handsome, tri-colored boy who loves adventure! (He tries not to brag about his good looks.) Right now his ears are only part-way up, but we bet he's going to have beautiful upright ears when he's done teething. Give Woody time to finish his puppy shots & he'll be ready to go on adventures with you like hiking or running through tunnels & over obstacles, just to see if you can catch up with him. He also likes to use his nose to guide him, so he might like to learn to use his nose to find things you want him to find. Smart as a whip, Woody would like to learn anything you'd like to teach him. And when all the adventure & play & learning new things are over, Woody likes cuddle time on the couch, & might even like to fall asleep next to you--well, after he's potty-trained, of course. Woody is treat & toy-motivated, but he's not picky. He eagerly plays with chew toys, soft toys, squeaky toys, bones, balls, & Frisbees. And as far as treats go, he's happy with a piece of his kibble. All his foster mom has to do is make a couple of "click" sounds, & he comes running for a piece of his kibble.
BOLT
? ? BOLT ADOPTED 8/13/2022 Male 7 months Bolt’s casual meet and greet turned into an unexpected adoption. His new family could not leave without him - check out more photos and see the rest of our dogs on our website -- https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ ? ? Meet 7-month-old Bolt, a gorgeous black & white rough-coated boy, whose coat is so soft to touch & beautiful to look at. The best thing is that Bolt is as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside. He's happy, social with humans & dogs, & he even leaves the cats in his foster home alone. Bolt loves nothing more than following his foster dad around the property & surveying the scene. Sometimes he breaks into a little leap & romp just to make sure you know he's having a good time. He is active, curious, & adventurous, but not over-the-top.
ADOPTED – SAM
ADOPTED – SAM is as affable a guy as The Sam Malone of Cheers fame. He wants everyone to be happy with him & thrives on positive reinforcement. It's easy to be happy with Sam because he truly is such a good boy. Sam likes to try new things & join in the fun with his littermates & the other dogs in his foster home. And did we mention cute? Sam has soft eyes & a beautiful black & white, easy-to-care-coat. He also has a "thumbprint" on the top of his head. Some dog lovers call this "the lucky thumbprint" & others call it "the mark of wisdom." We say whoever adopts him will be wise & lucky! Like his siblings, Sam loves to play with toys & with people & other dogs. He would do well in a home with another dog, but would be happy as an only dog, soaking up all the love & attention. He's easy-going that way. Sam is a bright, inquisitive boy, who will enjoy learning new things, & enjoying the treats & play-rewards that come along with all of that. If you're looking for a devoted, fun-loving friend to pal around with & to simply hang out afterwards, our Sam just might be the best puppy sidekick you could ask for.
ADOPTED – LILITH
ADOPTED – LILITH is the princess of the litter. She has a gorgeous, soft, white & black coat that is a true delight to touch, & it's a good thing. This little girl loves all kinds of attention, especially snuggling, cuddling, napping next to her foster mom or on her foster mom's lap. Lilith seems to know that she's pretty & that the world should be her oyster. That said, she is a benevolent princess & is happy to share attention with her siblings. She also shares her toys nicely. And beauty that she is, Lilith is not afraid to play & get her paws wet & dirty, as long as someone is standing by to clean her up when the fun is over. Lilith is both treat & toy-motivated, but she's especially attention-motivated. Lilith has shown the most interest of all the puppies in watching the sheep in her foster home. She is silly, loving, gives kisses, & is the best tugger of the group. She could live happily with another dog in the home, but might really prefer to have all of the attention for herself.
ADOPTED – CARLA
ADOPTED – CARLA is a girl with focus. She checks things out & then sets herself to the task at hand: pouncing on a toy, following her foster mom & pups around the yard in a game of puppy train, or finding something or someplace new to explore thoroughly & purposefully. Carla especially loves chew toys & treats, so both work well for training rewards, & as smart as she is, training should be a blast with this little girl. Carla is active & adventurous, & has a can do attitude. Yet she has a calm button, too. When we took her photographs for the website, she was hands-down the most poised puppy. She seemed to know what we wanted her to do & held her pose again & again. She has a beautiful black & white smooth coat, which will be easy to care for. Can you tell that this little girl has it all? She would thrive in a home where she would have lots of opportunities to train & learn. (Dog sports anyone?) She loves to show her person what she can do.
ADOPTED – DIANE
ADOPTED – What a little darling DIANE is! We can always find her in the pile of puppies because she has a beautiful black dot on her back. Diane loves to play & rough-house with her brothers & sisters. Her favorite game is to see who can run fastest in a game of chase, & Diane is often the winner of those races. She doesn't hold back. A game of tug with another puppy is also super fun, so we have to say that Diane is something of a tom-boy. That said, when it comes to interacting with the adult dogs in her foster home, she is nothing but sweet, giving lots of kisses to her aunts & uncles, as if to say: "Be nice to me. I'm just a baby!" So, she has a sweet, soft side, too. Diane is very play, food, & toy-motivated, so she will be a blast to train. While she loves to chase a ball & tug with her siblings, she's still learning to "tug" with people & to bring a ball back once she's chased it. Not to worry, Diane is super smart, & she learns quickly.
ADOPTED – FRASER
ADOPTED - Meet FRASER, an 8-week-old girlie with a beautiful tri-colored smooth coat. And we're all taking bets on what her ears are going to do (just today we see ears heading in an upward direction). Fraser is spunk & sweet rolled into one. At about 10 pounds, she can run with the big dogs & loves to. She isn't afraid of anything. She chases after the big dogs in her foster home until she is tired enough to do somersaults across the yard. She doesn't want to miss out on anything. And when she becomes a pest & they tell her to back off, she listens. One of her favorite things to do is to gather all the toys, even toys that are bigger than her, & take them into her "lair," creating a big pile. It's hilarious. She doesn't guard her toys; she simply collects them. Like all puppies her age, when she gets too tired, she has trouble winding down, so that is the time she needs to return to her pen or crate & take a puppa-nap. She is crate-trained, & is making great progress in potty-training.
ADOPTED – PANCAKE
ADOPTED - Say "hello" to PANCAKE, a 2-year-old former mama dog, whose beautiful puppies have all found their forever homes. Now it's Pancake's turn to find her forever home. Pancake's favorite part of being a mom to her pups was the stage in which she could play with them. It was as if she turned back into a puppy herself. And we've seen that playful enthusiasm in her interactions with the other adult dogs & puppies in her foster home. She is also very kind. When another dog or puppy in her foster home seems unsure or in need of support & comfort, Pancake is right there to help. When she was in the vet clinic for her spay, she checked in on the other dogs in the kennel, quietly "talking" with them & leaning toward them. The whole hospital staff loved her.
Adopted – FRANNY
Meet our sweet FRANNY girl. She is a 32lb, 10m old BC mix with a soft, medium coat and cute fluffy ears. FRANNY's favorite thing is her person. She will follow her foster mom around the house, then settle at her feet. She is a typical young girl who is still puppy-ish and will sometimes chew things that she should not given the chance. A little puppy proofing or limiting where she can go in the house is all she needs.
Adopted – Coco
COCO came to us a stray. The streets were not kind to COCO, she was sick, thin, and badly in need of dental care. But with Coco's strong determination to survive and a deep need to belong to someone, mixed with some excellent dentistry a bath, a persistent foster Mom and 4 pack mates, and the opportunity to slowly recover in an environment where she felt safe, secure, wanted, and lavished with lots of affection and kisses - COCO has blossomed into a beautiful bold happy little girl, running, and talking, playing and napping, chasing squirrels, watching the birds on the fence line, taking rides to and from, driving up and down the American River Parkway.
