Newton 2006 – 2020

September 5, 2020/in In Memoriam

Hi. Newt’s dad here. I have sat down to write this umpteen times, only to let myself get distracted from the reality of the circumstance. On Wednesday September 2nd just before noon, we said goodbye to our boy Newton. Newt was a staple in our rescue for six plus years. The day prior we had officially made him part of the family by adopting him, as we had discussed many times. The end came swiftly (thankfully). Enough time to give it a chance, then to accept the inevitable and ultimately give him a peaceful and dignified cross over Rainbow Bridge.

ADOPTED Willow

September 5, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Say hello to WILLOW, an 8m old BC mix female. Her foster mom thinks she might be mixed with Kelpie. She has a lovely soft easy care smooth coat, the cutest little socks on her feet and a tiny white tip on her tail. WILLOW is a medium to high energy girl who loves to play but will settle down when playtime is over. She loves other dogs and gets along with cats too. She will try to play (gently) with the cats, so any cats in the home would have to be dog savvy.

ADOPTED Lexi

August 20, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

“WOOF!  My name is LEXI and I’m hoping someone will adopt me and give me the furever home that I have never had!  I want to grow up and feel loved for the rest of my life and with your help I promise I will become the best little doggie you’ve ever had!  Will you be my special person”??  WOOF!

ADOPTED – GRACEY

August 17, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

GRACEY is an active gal who likes to play ball and run around the yard. That is a good thing as she needs to stay active to keep her weight down and enjoy the food and treats she very much enjoys. Even in her younger days she was overweight. Since coming back to rescue she has lost 18 lbs and looks really good at 46 lbs. Her medium tri-colored coat is easy to maintain.

ADOPTED Tip

August 13, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Meet Tip.  She is an Intense, Energetic, Fun-loving, Active, Chewy, Silly, Sweet, and very Friendly little girl.  Tip is crate-trained and will come in and out of the house using simple off-leash guidance commands.  She is still a “puppy” at approximately 8 months of age.  Tip weighs around 34 pounds and is 21 inches at the shoulder with a compact little body. She has a beautiful soft, short black and white coat with perfectly perky border collie ears.  She has four white feet, white on her chest, and a white tip on her nose.

ADOPTED BARON

July 8, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Introducing the most lovable adorable companion to be found. BARON is a male Border collie Catahoula mix just shy of 3 years of age, approximately 56 pounds.  BARON is a very sweet boy.  He loves to join you in whatever you’re doing and shadow your next move.  He loves to give kisses and curl up in your lap for a nap.

ADOPTED Patrick

July 6, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING INTEREST IN PATRICK WE WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS. THANK YOU!

Successful Adoption Story – Ellie

June 21, 2020/in Success Stories

We started right way with Obedience training and he was a star so we continued to AKC Good Citizen Certification and then AKC Novice Tricks.  Practicing was his favorite part of the day!   He began training for therapy dog, going into Rehabilitation facilities and Hospice and then Covid-19 came. We were not able to complete the training but Ellie eagerly continued the training at home.

ADOPTED JESSE

June 17, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Due to the overwhelming response we will not be reviewing any more applications for Jesse for now. Thank you for your understanding.

ADOPTED CODY

June 7, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Meet CODY! At 12-14 weeks, this happy little bundle has been such a pleasure to have in our home. We were a little worried that the older dogs would pick on him, but this little boy rules the roost. He isn’t afraid of the older bigger dogs and wants very much to engage in play with everyone he meets. His foster brothers are very tolerant of him stealing lap time and toys, but when he crosses a line and gets reprimanded by them, he sulks off quietly to go lie down and give them some space.

ADOPTED Mama Wren’s Puppies

May 31, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Due to the overwhelming response we will not be reviewing any more applications for the puppies for now. Thank you for your understanding.

ADOPTED Tucker

May 21, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Our boy TUCKER (aka Tuck) is a gorgeous 6 year old, 45 lb red and white Border Collie mix with a thick rough double coat. TUCK loves to be petted and loved. He will sit patiently while you pet the top of his head or stroke him under the chin. He will lick you while being petted and loves giving kisses.

ADOPTED Nyla

April 21, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Nyla is approximately 5-months-old and weighs about 28 pounds.  Even with her petite build, she is a very athletic ball of energy.  And talk about athletic: this girl can easily clear a 24” fence with room to spare!  She is a gorgeous jumper.  Nyla is learning good name recognition and is making progress toward a reliable recall.  She gets along well with all of the dogs in her foster home and the dogs she has visited at the home of a family friend.  That said, the older dogs are not so tolerant of her puppy exuberance.  She is always up for playing!!! Nyla is almost housebroken, and she is crate-trained.

ADOPTED Elvis

March 22, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Meet our colorful boy ELVIS. To call him “Tri” is understating things as he is made up of a myriad of colors. He is active love and fun. ELVIS sits on command (and often before asked) when he wants loving and treats. Training should be fun and rewarding as he is both praise and treat motivated.

ADOPTED Augie

March 13, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

A big hello to a little chap, AUGIE DOGGIE! Yes this little guy, weighing in at a mere 22 lbs is frisky and fun, a good houseguest and great companion. He does have Border collie markings and looks like a miniature border collie but most likely his lineage is a mix of smaller breeds. AUGIE is cute and a cuddler, crates easily and sleeps quietly in his crate throughout the night.

ADOPTED K.C.

March 9, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Mama K.C. is about 6-years-old and about 40#.  She is a smart and active girl who raised 10 puppies and is now ready for her forever home.  She is both able to be independent and very affectionate.  K.C is a super nice dog to live with and has been an utterly relaxed mother to her pups, not overly protective or fussy when people or the other dogs have come near.  She has a nice level of confidence; she likes to stay busy and to learn, especially when there are treats involved. She is super smart.

ADOPTED Roaring Twenties Puppies

March 2, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

The Roaring Twenties littermates are a delightful, playful, social gang of 10: 6 girls & 4 boys.  The pups are a little smaller than some litters of 7 weeks we’ve had, but it appears they may be a little smaller than their mother, who weighs around 40 lbs.  Their mother, K.C., is a smooth-coated, classically-marked border collie with gorgeous prick or stand-up ears.

The Roaring Twenties pups will be ready to go to their new homes on March 8th.

ADOPTED Tripp

February 28, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

TRIPP is a young rough coat fawn and white male Border collie mix. He is approximately 1 year of age and weighs in at a slim and trim 37 lbs. TRIPP loves to play. He especially enjoyed his time with our 3 month old puppy guest Bear. They would play and wrestle for as long as we allowed it.

ADOPTED Bear

February 27, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Say hello to BEAR! This adorable little guy, approximately 3 1/2 months old and about 20 lbs, is a bundle of energy and fun!  His demeanor is mostly laid back and easy going but he does get excited when playing.

ADOPTED Cooper

January 25, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

A big welcome to our COOPER!! This darling smooth coated red and white boy is 18 months old and 39 lbs of fun. He is as sweet as he can be and just a bit shy but made himself at home in his foster home quickly. He is a very good guest and apparently house broken as he’s never had an accident while in rescue.
