ADOPTED – Q (Now Logan)

July 2, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

I am “Q” and I am ADORABLE! I am so Q-ute that even when I do puppy things my foster parents cannot get mad at me. Look at me and a smile will follow. I am happy no matter what and I will make you happy I chose you. I was born about 4 months ago and weigh 23 lbs. I am a smooth coat border collie mix and while my ears mostly stay up now, I am told to expect them to be up all the time when I get to be a couple months older.

ADOPTED – CAL

June 16, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

Say hello to our sweet boy CAL, a 1 1/2yr old BC weighing in at around 40lbs. CAL’s favorite thing in the world is chasing a ball, or running around with a ball in his mouth. Second favorite would be following his person around the house and doing his best to be helpful. CAL gets along great with other dogs and even cats! He loves to meet new people and always greets everyone with a smile and a wag.

CAL is a special needs boy. He was born with what the vets suspect is a congenital defect that caused his hind legs to bow inward. This does not interfere with his ability to run and play and lead a normal life. He gets along really well. CAL has seen several vets and while a reconstruction surgery is an option, he is leading a normal life without surgery. Because the surgery would be so extensive and the long recovery would mean months of crate time, we have chosen not to pursue surgery. We are happy to talk more about his condition and what it means for him, if you’re interested.

Adopted SYLVIE

June 10, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

SYLVIE is a compact, 37 pound young lady, who is about 8-months-old.  Based on her markings & build, we guess that she is a border collie/Australian cattle dog mix.  Her coat is short & slick, a beautiful black & white merle, & she has one ear that stands up like a toy soldier & the other that flops like a mini-lop rabbit.  Her floppy ear may still stand up, but either way, she is adorable.

Roisin’s Success Story

May 29, 2021/in Success Stories

From Mom Tara:

We adopted Roisin (formally Kimber) January 2020 and she has been a wonderful addition to our family. She loves hiking, taking a dip in a stream or lake, rolling in the snow, and running along on bike rides (on no traffic roads/trails). She is so affectionate!!

Rascal Success Story

May 19, 2021/in Success Stories

Rascal, adopted September 13, 2020, is still gaining confidence out in the big world.  In the beginning, he was so nervous to even leave my front porch.  We just kept “practicing” slowly and he is doing so well.  We now go on long walks by the river and he loves meeting new people.  But his favorite pastime is “PLAY BALL!

ADOPTED – MAGGIE

May 12, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

Maggie is a petite (33#)  3-year-old border collie mix with a heart of gold.  Even when she was in the shelter, she was smiling, friendly, and wagging her tail with everyone she met.  When she has gone to the vet for exams and vaccines, she has acted as if she was going to Disneyland.  The staff said they have never had a dog come in that seemed so happy and comfortable to be there.  She likes men and women equally and truly does not know a stranger.

OUR ROSE

May 2, 2021/in In Memoriam

🐕 IN MEMORIAM  OUR ROSE – Smart, Lovely and the best Goose Dog Ever – 💔. 🐕

We lost our Rose yesterday 💔.  She was 14 1/2 years old and SO smart, SO lovely and the BEST goose dog ever! When Rose was working she was all business! Nothing distracted her. Other dogs we worked with her wanted to play chase (or chase the squirrels)  but Rose 🌹  ignored them and did her job!

ADOPTED – JAX

April 20, 2021/in 2022, Alumni

ADOPTED – JAX

Meet JAX, a sweet 2.5 year-old male beautifully marked smooth coat black and white border collie with inquisitive brown eyes.  He weighs in at a slim and slender 30 pounds.  JAX is looking for a loving and caring home.   He may have been under-socialized as a puppy as JAX is a dog sensitive to change and/or to environments where he feels he has no control.  JAX has a high “flight” complex.  He does not like loud noises and is fearful during thunderstorms.  JAX is also fearful and hyper-sensitive outside after dark.  He wants to trust and loves to play with other dogs, but has a high startle response.  JAX is happiest when he has a consistent, dependable, and calm household, with a very solid routine.  Change in his daily routine will definitely set back his attitude and training.

Adopted – OLIVER

April 19, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

Meet our darling 18 month old OLIVER. He is a young roughcoat black and white male border collie with a playful side to his sweet personality. Weighing in at 35 lbs our OLIVER was a bit shy at first in his foster home but warmed up quickly to his foster mom and dad and his foster pack mates. He slept quietly in his crate from the first night and hasn’t had one accident in his foster home.

Adopted – SHELBY

April 17, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

This adorable little 1 year old Border collie is not only a beautiful dog, she is about 35 lbs of puppy energy, goofiness and playfulness! She has a lot of young energy so she will need an active person who will give her the exercise she needs to help her thrive.

ADOPTED – CINDY

April 16, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

Say hello to sweet little CINDY. She is a 1yr old, 30lb BC with a smooth coat and lovely spots on her chest and legs. CINDY loves to be with her person. She follows her foster mom around the house or yard and always wants to be close. She will sit companionably by your side and put her head in your lap. She also really loves to play with other dogs who are of a similar energy level.

ADOPTED – Panda

March 19, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

Meet little PANDA BEAR, a very sweet Border collie mix with the most adorable little bob tail. PANDA weighs a slender 35 lbs. and is only one year old. She has a soft medium length coat with black ticking on her face and feet. She has big soft brown eyes that are always looking for love. If you’re looking for a REAL cuddle bug PANDA’S your go to girl! She probably holds the title of the most affectionate dog we have ever fostered (and there have been A LOT)! At one year old PANDA is very much a puppy with all the energy and playfulness that’s typical of a Border collie pup.

Adopted – MARLOWE

March 12, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

MARLOWE is a sweet, active puppy who loves playing tug and fetch with his favorite lamb toy. After he gets to run around, he’ll come sit in your lap for cuddles. He is currently fostered with an older, female Border collie, and he gets along well with her, chasing her around the house and sharing toys. MARLOWE is a curious puppy who loves being with people; he particularly enjoys “helping” to unload the dishwasher.

ADOPTED – IKEY

March 3, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

IKEY is a smart, even tempered little guy who loves to hang with people, other dogs and even wants to play with the kitties. He has a strong desire to be with his people. He enjoys a good round of tug, whether with the foster mom or the other dogs. He loves all toys but those that squeak are especially fun. IKEY is approximately four months and 15 pounds, with a medium silky wavy coat.

Adopted WILLIE

March 1, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

WILLIE = FUN! Our four month, 18 pound boy puts fun into everything he does. Whether it’s playing, romping, eating or cuddling he enjoys it to the hilt. He was even good at bath time and did crazy zoomies all over the house when set free. He does enjoy water; the dirtier the better! Lest we not forget belly rubs which he L-O-V-E-S!

ADOPTED SLOOPY

February 19, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

SLOOPY is a smooth coat female tri color Border collie mix who weighs in at about 35 lbs. She is a gentle soul who loves people and other dogs. She is on the submissive side, earning the nicknames “Flip-Flop” and “Roll Over Beethoven” due to her penchant for rolling on her back at every opportunity. Building her confidence is something we are working on. She has been an awesome guest.

ADOPTED ATTICUS

January 24, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

ATTICUS is a 5-month-old, approximately 20-pound pup.  He is an athletic boy with boundless energy, who enjoys long hikes, learning tricks & new behaviors like sit, down, leave it, off, & wait.  Right now, his favorite thing is playing with wild abandon, & he plays hard.  Finding things to occupy this boy & working with him to find his off switch are his biggest challenges.

ADOPTED – BANJO

December 12, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

To quote his foster mom, BANJO is JOYOUS! He is a fun loving & very active Border collie just over one year of age and about 44 lbs. He has a beautiful smooth tri-color coat. BANJO will run and play the day away but does settle nicely when inside, often found on a dog bed or in his crate, door opened. He and IGGY (also available) love chasing each other all over the yard. Be it agility, Treibball, hiking, or something else he will need a lot of exercise and activity. He makes great eye contact and is always checking back for validation.

ADOPTED IGGY

December 11, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

IGGY is a friendly, medium rough coat just over two years of age and about 40 lbs. IGGY came to us a bit on the thin side but has put on a couple pounds thanks to three meals a day. He could stand to gain another 5 – 6 pounds. IGGY loves to run around with buddies Sissy and Banjo but longs to be loved on and petted. He has shown interest in chewing toys and bones, and also has begun chasing (but not bringing back) a tennis ball. IGGY is looking for an active family that will include IGGY in all the fun.

ADOPTED – BLUE

October 27, 2020/in 2020, Alumni

Meet our handsome boy BLUE! He is a 1 yr old smooth coat with beautiful blue-ish gray markings on his head and a soft coat. He is 48lbs and has a long lanky stride. BLUE’s favorite things are to play with other dogs, play in the water or to lay quietly by your side. He gets along well with cats and pays them no mind. BLUE really loves the water and will run and play like a puppy.
