ADOPTED 1/22/2022 – SMOOTHIE

January 6, 2022/in 2022, Alumni

ADOPTED 1/22/2022 – SMOOTHIE is the most loving & calm of all the puppies when it’s time for cuddles or when she’s settled after lots of activity.  This girlie is food-motivated & figures out quickly what it takes to get what she wants.  You do something with her & she says “I’ve got it” & tries to do it again & again to get reward.  Her favorite games are tug & tug & tug & then, go chase a ball; when truly settled, she likes a nice chew toy to go to sleep with.

ADOPTED 1/22/2022 – WAFFLE

January 6, 2022/in 2022, Alumni

ADOPTED 1/22/2022 – Classically-marked WAFFLE is the smallest girlies, & at first blush, the most delicate. She is quiet & takes things in, checking things out before joining the fun. She is easy-going & never pushy. That said, Waffle is silly in her play—bouncing around, standing up, rolling, & kicking. All of the puppies are her playmates, & like her siblings WAFFLE enjoys tugging with the other pups & with people. Waffle likes people; & she loves to cuddle, give kisses, & even to bundle up after she settles from play. She would love a quieter, adult home.

ADOPTED – LATTE

January 6, 2022/in 2022, Alumni

ADOPTED – LATTE’s short, easy-to-care for coat is a glorious mix of colors. This girl’s second name is FUN. Latte is curious, adventurous, & is willing to step out & try things on her own. Even with her adventurous spirit, she is still cuddly & affectionate, giving kisses & seeking comfort from her person & her littermates.

ADOPTED – OATMEAL

January 6, 2022/in 2022, Alumni

ADOPTED – OATMEAL (OATIE) is willing to try anything.  He likes water a lot—both to drink & to play in.  Like his littermates he likes to tug with the other puppies, but his favorite playtime activities are to shake stuffed toys or to grab & tussle on his own with hanging tug toys.  Oatmeal is very affectionate & social with everyone he meets.

ADOPTED – MUFFIN MAN

January 6, 2022/in 2022, Alumni

ADOPTED – MUFFIN MAN likes to give kisses as a reward when you sing his theme song (“Do You Know the Muffin Man?”) to him.  He is very loving; in fact, his foster mom called him a “big ball of love.”  He is curious & adventurous, but he especially likes to do whatever the group is doing.  And when he’s done playing hard with the group or chewing squeaky toys on his own, he likes to fall asleep on the stuffed red dog.

ADOPTED – DUKE

January 6, 2022/in 2022, Alumni

ADOPTED – DUKE is a gorgeous 53-pound, 2-year-old BC/Yellow Lab mix boy.  He is incredibly athletic & loves to run full out & to jump.  (He would be a great running partner or hiking buddy).  Even though he likes to jump, Duke is a kind boy, & he doesn’t jump up on people; when his front feet leave the ground it’s only to give his person a gentle hug.  He loves people & gets along beautifully with the dogs in his foster home.  He lived previously in a home with 6 other dogs, & he is reported to have gotten along well with all of them, too.  We don’t know about cats.

ADOPTED 1/22/2022 BANDIT

January 4, 2022/in 2022, Alumni

ADOPTED 1/22/2022 Meet BANDIT, a small (38#), 8-year-old boy who is ready to find his forever home.  Bandit was clearly neglected in his former life, but he’s loving life now after a dental, grooming, & a diet, as well as the attention of his foster family who loves him dearly.  Bandit likes meeting new people & exploring new places.  He likes to go for rides in the car & going for walks on a leash, & while he is not trained to heel yet, he does walk nicely on a leash.  He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, but he loves one-on-one attention so much that his ideal home would be one in which he is the only dog.  While Bandit wins the Mr. Congeniality Award with people & other dogs, he is most definitely not a cat man.  He needs a home with no cats.

ADOPTED – SMOKY

December 22, 2021/in 2021, Alumni

ADOPTED – Meet SMOKY, a 1 year-old border collie mix of about 70 lbs, ready to start the new year in his new home.  Smoky is a strong, athletic, & agile boy, who would love to have an exercise buddy to go on adventures with, to run & play with, & then to hang out afterwards.  He is still very much a puppy despite his size.  The good news is that Smoky is a fast learner, & he loves treats & toys, so training with him is going to be fun & rewarding.  He adapts to routines very quickly.  He learned “sit” in a matter of minutes!  Smoky is acclimated to a crate, sleeping in his crate at night, but with the door open.  He is good about going potty outside (90% of the time & with a good routine).  His leash manners are coming along; he pulls a little in general & he still pulls a lot when he sees a squirrel or a small dog.

ADOPTED – MAMA Mercy

December 13, 2021/in 2021, Alumni

ADOPTED – MAMA MERCY is a small (around 32#), young (about 18 months) former mama dog of seven darling puppies.  The pups are heading off to their forever homes, & it’s time for MERCY to find her family.  A border collie mix with a docked tail & a smooth, easy-care coat, MERCY is a sweet, impish girl, who loves nothing more than to be with her people. She snuggles up to, follows around, & looks adoringly at her people, sometimes twirling in the air with joy.  Even though she is good with other dogs & with cats, she clearly prefers people.  She is nicely social with people she has just met.  And in all things, she is gentle.

ADOPTED – PASH

December 10, 2021/in 2021, Alumni

ADOPTED – Small but mighty, PASH & LIKER are very much alike.  Their foster mom calls them “The Twins.”  Not only do they look alike, but they have very similar personalities; fun-loving, silly, social, & confident.  There isn’t anything these two don’t like to try. “The Twins” love the agility play tunnel. Both of them really live running through and rolling it and will pretty much try anything.

Mama Mercy’s pups were born around 10/1/21, & they are excited about finding their forever homes.  Mama weighs about 36 pounds.  We don’t know who the dad or dads are, so we are offering an educated guess on the pups’ adult sizes.  Mama Mercy (Last Photo) will be available for Adoption after her spay. We are not taking applications for her at this time.

ADOPTED – KIND

December 9, 2021/in 2022, Alumni

ADOPTED – KIND is the Leader of the Pack – He wants to please, takes positively to correction so should be fun to train. Like his siblings, KIND  is an active pup, and loves to cuddle.  All toys & games are on his list of favorite activities. He gives warm crazy kisses and likes to be talked to directly. Loves tug toys and is super sweet with me!

ADOPTED – HELPER

December 9, 2021/in 2021, Alumni

ADOPTED – HELPER is a very interactive pup. He loves being with me and exploring things I’m trying to work on, and is the big boy of the group at 11 pounds. His siblings can lay on him, pull his tail, bite his ears and tease him and he is ok with everything and enjoys the attention. Although he interacts great with all the other dogs (adults included) his choice would to be with me. HELPER is very food-motivated, which will be great for training.  His favorite activities are to run & play & chew toys (or anything else left where he can get it).

ADOPTED – DEAR

December 9, 2021/in 2021, Alumni

ADOPTED – DEAR is a sweet girlie.  Like her siblings, she likes to tug & to play with balls & stuffed toys (stuffing removed), but she is also a contented puppy. When you talk to her she will wave at you with her right front leg. DEAR’s favorite thing is to give you lots of sweet smelling puppy kisses with no bites. Chew toys are becoming very much popular with her!!!

ADOPTED – GORDY

December 7, 2021/in 2022, Alumni

Meet GORDY! This sweet boy is so excited for his new adventure.  He greets everyone he meets with enthusiastic tail wags and a whole body wiggle that will melt your heart! He’s still a little on the shy side though and has a tendency to do a kind of submissive belly crawl when he encounters new situations, but he embraces every new situation and everyone he meets with a happy demeanor.

ADOPTED – JOSIE

December 3, 2021/in 2021, Alumni

ADOPTED – JOSIE is an energetic 8-year-old girl of about 40#.  Everyone who meets her loves her.  She is friendly and social with everyone she meets, and has gotten along just fine with the dogs in her foster home; we can’t say how she is with cats.  She loves to play and romp, but she settles nicely, happy to curl up in her bed with a bone or chewy toy.  She is not over-the-top like some border collies and has an off-switch.  JOSIE is very treat-motivated and loves toys, so they can both be used to motivate her in training.

ADOPTED – KESTREL

December 3, 2021/in 2021, Alumni

ADOPTED – Kestrel is a gorgeous young girl on the inside as well as the outside; we estimate her age to be about 1-to-2-years-old.  She is social with people and other dogs, happy to greet everyone she meets.  She loves toys–tugs, balls, chew toys, etc., and she especially loves to play with toys with her person.  So, toys will be great motivators for her in training.  She likes treats, too, but she likes yummy and somewhat higher end treats, and then you’ll have her full attention–string cheese, small chewy treats, liver treats, etc.; no biscuit-style treats or Charlie Bear treats for this princess.  She responds very well to the treats she likes, so again, yummy treats will be good motivators for training.  At about 45#, Kestrel is very athletic, agile, and energetic, and loves nothing more than doing things with her person.  So, she will probably thrive in a home where she gets to learn fun things like dogs sports: agility, flyball, nosework, etc.  Leash walks are probably not going to be enough for this girlie.  She will do best in a home where she gets to spend a lot of time with her person.

Mama Mercy’s Puppies

November 28, 2021/in 2021, Alumni

Mama Mercy’s 7 pups are a few days past 8-weeks-old (born around 10/1/21), & they are excited about finding their forever homes.  Their average weight is 7 pounds, so we predict that they will be medium-sized dogs as adults.  Mama weighs about 36 pounds.  We don’t know who the dad or dads are, so we are offering an educated guess on the pups’ adult sizes.  Mama Mercy (Photo 5) will be available for Adoption after her spay. We are not taking applications for her at this time.

ADOPTED – ASH

November 27, 2021/in 2022, Alumni

ADOPTED – ASH (52 pounds of Border collie / Great Pyrenees) has been put on this earth to be petted. She gets petted when she sits, while we are walking, and when we cuddle up on the couch. When I stop she gives me that soulful look with those big brown eyes and the petting continues. Because she has such long legs I don’t even need to bend over to pet her, unless of course when she wants belly rubs. And she LOVES belly rubs! ASH lets us know when anyone is approaching the yard, comes to the door or enters the house. As she tells me, “It’s my job to protect my home and surroundings.”

Adopted – Cooper

November 7, 2021/in 2020, Alumni

Say hello to our sweet little COOPER, a 1yr old BC mix. He is a great size at 25lbs and has a creamy white smooth coat with a 1/3 cropped tail. COOPER is a soft boy who loves his people, other dogs and cats alike. He gets along great with everyone and would be happiest in a home with other dogs and cats. He really loves the cats in his foster home. During the day he plays with them (gently) and cuddles with them in the evenings on the couch. His foster mom has never seen a dog who loves cats so much. He also loves to play and wrestle with the other dogs as well.
